"All a gun does is focus an explosion in one direction."You have a class of young strong men and women, and they want to give their lives to something. Advertising has these people chasing cars and clothes they don't need. Generations have been working in jobs they hate, just so they can buy what they don't really need.
"We don't have a great war in our generation, or a great depression, but we do, we have a great war of the spirit. We have a great revolution against the culture. The great depression is our lives. We have a spiritual depression."-Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club

a very nice poem by garrett:
where does marika
spend the lot of her days,
On the road, i am told
with the ferals and strays.
is she up in the mountains
or down near the bays?
does she sleep in the moonlight
and wake under rays?
to guess where she goes to,
to assume where she stays
is to poke at the mystery
of her time, of her ways.
but if you're quite careful
with dilligent grace
and the night is just right
to live out the chase,
you might hear a faint whisper
in both time and space.
and to simply turn round
is to meet face to face

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are born to manifest the glory within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence liberates others.â€-Nelson Mandela, 1994 Nobel Peace Prize inaugural speech
