Influences: THE EMPEROR'S STORYOne fine African day, in a land far away, the Emperor woke up and said, Let our music play and be an inspiration of joy for all those that come to hear it. He gathered around him the greatest musicians and writers in the land and he inspired them to create schools to enlighten his people and each other. Many students came to sit at the feet of these great and wise teachers and to learn about love, peace and music
But the Prophets had seen the future and knew that the Emperors wealth and success would draw invaders as well. The empire was doomed. So the wise teachers decided to save their greatest treasures, their music and art. They asked the Emperor for permission to go into the world and teach their rhythms to all the people through out the land. Permission was granted and they became the first Traveling Africans who told stories and sung songs everywhere in the Ancient World and from Egypt to India from Greece to Spain. Then the war came and like all fights for survival, there were great feats of bravery and unimaginable sacrifices. The youngest, smartest, bravest and the best threw themselves into the fire of war. They were Consumed like the ground pillar of grand house, and burned to the ground. Their heat and their passion were retold in stories for centuries and continue to be told. But after they were gone the houses that they had built crumbled, turning into cold asses only to be blown away by the winds.5000 years later, the music and the blood kin of those who survived have dispersed in all corner of the world. Tribe of Djembe was born from their Legacy. And wisdom of this legacy and remains inspire to enlighten and enliven the hearts and spirits of people all over the world through its music and spirit.
