About Me
Mike Polarny is one of the most interesting personality of the Polish club scene. He has gained popularity thanks to his bold approach to music. He has never followed fashion, instead he chose to create new trends. As Pompon Team (www.pompon.net) he popularizes ambitious electronic music and tries to present it to other listeners. He loves challenges and unconventional situations, which require him to use his creative powers.
As a DJ he has conquered the hearts of many clubgoers, as he has played in foreign clubs in Spain, Austria, Germany, Slovakia and Belarus, as well as during such international festivals as Astigmatic, Wilsonic, Creamfields, REC Madrid, OCE or Pohoda. Mike is best known for his explosive and versatile sets, which combine seemingly unfitting elements. Deephouse, disco, dub, minimal, electro, jazz and deeptechno – this guy sees no boundaries and tries to use the best of what electronic music has to offer. Still his sets are coherent and well organized, as the tracks take the listeners on a unique musical trip. Mike Polarny’s skills were appreciated during the first Polish contest for young talents in 2001 – Smirnoff On DJ’s Koktajl. He has supported many bigwigs and great artists like Chicken Lips, Richard Dorfmeister, Blackstrobe, Spacid, Daniel Bell, Munk, Ata, DJ Naughty, Maurice Fulton, Jacek Sienkiewicz, Morgan Geist or Dixon – to name just a few.
He says, he plays for people who are opened to what is new. Mike Polarny prefers deep melancholic music, but he often plays crazy and energetic tunes that do not allow you to stand still. He feeds off of public’s spontaneous reactions. He is also famous for his brave selection of tunes, which often surprise the listeners and liven up the clubbers.
Mike Polarny is also an active promoter and manager. In Poland, he promotes interesting vibes by organizing events and inviting artists like Heiko MSO, Daniel Bell, Mark Moore, Tschamba Fii, Patrick Pulsinger, Rainer Klang and others. He also helps Polish producers present themselves abroad. Mike likes to travel to search for new inspirations and experiences, which he can later use in his own projects. He collaborates with Wilsonic Festival in Bratislava and REC festival in Madrid, as well with the Polish edition of the Smirnoff Experience project and an international music collective ProjectEast. He is also involved in tourism – as a professional snowboard instructor he works with travel agencies and organizes trips which combine sports and music to the Alps...
