What I Can't Be Today, I Can Be Tomorrow

About Me

Paul Weller. what can you say that has not already been said about this Ever Changing Man. Musical Genius fronted two great bands who redefiend the British Music scene and now he has developed into a Solo Superstar affectionatley nicknamed "The Modfather" the dissolution of The Style Council in 1989 left Paul Weller with no band, no contract and no fans. The Future didn't look very bright for this 32 year old man who only ten years earlier had been the Head of the Mod Revival and the Spokesman for a Generation but that Generation had seemingly turned their backs on him during his years with The Style Council over the course of a year Paul Weller reinvented himself as a solo artist. in 1991 he put together a band under the banner of The Paul Weller Movement and they toured Britain playing songs from his past, in 1992 with a recording contract he released his debut solo album entitled simply "Paul Weller" with songs like "Uh Huh Oh Yeh" and "Remember How We Started" Weller had finally struck out on his own next followed "Wild Wood" released in 1993 which showed Weller as slightly melancholy with tracks like "Moon On Your Pyjamas" and "Has My Fire Really Gone Out?" Fans flocked back to him, Weller was back to how they loved him and he'd finally made it as a solo star the success continued with "Live Wood" which was live versions of songs from the album. but nothing could prepare him for the phenomenal success of 1995's 'Stanley Road' his almost autobiographical album went paltinum and Weller was now at the top of his solo career, the album included the two huge hits "The Changingman" and "You Do Something To Me" Weller continued on with his career releasing "Heavy Soul" in 1997 and "Heliocentric" in 2000 then in 2001 he released "Days of Speed" the result of his acoustic tour which he played some old Jam and Style Council tracks as well as his solo hits. after this album came 2002's 'Illumination' then his 2005 covers album "Studio 150" then his latest album "As Is Now" Weller is still going, and he shows no signs of stopping so go see him!
