Created by Crazyprofile.comI was born at dawn on a Thursday rainy night of March in Italy, Napoli, a multicolorful city, a melting pot of cultures and a never ending resource of fantasies of human kind. My first memories as a child are all connected with lights, strong lights. My first passion was music and I am not ashamed to say that my first love was Elvis Presley. I remember dancing a crazy acrobatic rock at age 6 with my older sister. Growing up in a family where my mom used to listen to classical music and opera all the time like Bach, Mozart, Brahms,Vivaldi...and where my dad used to listen to Louis Armstrong, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Motown...don't ask me where that Elvis' thing came from. Still when I was a kid I was always fascinated by photography ( I used to take thousands of polaroids with the camera that my dad had for his business) and chemical stuff. So I ended up at age 16 in a dark room, developing and surprising myself of what I was looking for in and out of my world. Once I got back to my family's home, searching for my memories I found an agenda when I was in my teen. One page said : " I want to photograph the world to understand it better". Two things I would never lose: Wander and curiosity. I feel lucky that I started travelling very young with my family, especially in Asia. Such a different world, it really opened my mind and my soul. At age 19 I left Napoli to go to Rome where I attended a school, L'Istituto Europeo di Design, where I graduated in Photography. During that time I started to work for a photo agency "Il Dagherrotipo", specialized in travels and architecture. In that city I found my mentor, my greatest friend Antonio Affaitati. A great journalist, analyst, writer. He had a deep sensitivity and the capabilty of understanding the very true human nature. He devoted his entire life giving voice to those could not in the more remote parts of our planet. Sas Antonio! I documented the end of the war in former Yugoslavia, the first "democratic" election in Sarajevo in 1995. I covered the exodus in Rwanda in 1996. The election in Israel between Barak and Sharon in 2001. I collaborated as a freelance photographer for Reuters and Associated Press in Rome. In those days I also shared a studio In Rome, making photos of commercial assignments and portraits with large format cameras. In 2002 I went to NY for my first time for an assignement about the 4th of July after 9/11. I completely felt in love with the city. Since I moved in NY in 2003 I am travelling around the country and making photos of this immense, beautiful, contradictory country. I now live , love and work in Harlem, NYC.SPAIN
