I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 ************************************************************ ******** Born in Newark and raised in the small port city of Elizabeth, New Jersey, CEEVOX spent her childhood and teen years dreaming about one day becoming a singer and making her mark in this world doing what she knew best, MUSIC. CEEVOX claims to have had the best teachers, from Sarah Vaughn to Donna Summer to Celia Cruz and credits her vocal training to years of mimicking radio artists. When she moved to Miami in, 1989 with her family, CEEVOX had no idea how her life would be affected by what destiny had in store for her, and after being encouraged by her friend, Richard Munn she did her first live set at a local Miami Beach bar called Peacock Alley on Lincoln Road. After feeling the energy in the room and the crowd’s response she was inspired to follow her heart and pursue her singing career.Once decided to commit, opportunity came her way. While bar-backing at a local club in Coconut Grove, CEEVOX was wailing to the music from the first level of the club underneath the DJ’s booth. The local DJ heard her and told her she needed to get into the studio and start recording. DJ/Producer Greg "Stryke" Chin had the same question and asked her if she was interested in recording some vocals. He introduced her to Ian Appell (E-N) and they began working in the studio, the year was 1995. While working in the studio, she noticed a sound sampler with the extension VOX. She took her first name’s initial, and added two E’s, and came up with the stage name CEEVOX.Her first collaboration with E-N and her first single was released in 1996. It landed her on the first Bash Night Club compilation, as well as hitting NO. 5 on the Dance/Club Play Billboard charts, taking her out of the studio and onto the stage. The success of "That Sound" led to her next collaboration with E-N and Charles Afton in 1997, "Make You Feel." Her hit "That Sound" peaked the interest of DJ/Producer George Acosta, who remixed it along with Schulz & McSpadden. That same year, CEEVOX went into the studio with George Acosta and with him co-wrote two tracks "Luv 2 Luv" and "Reach". “Reach” was released in 1998.Her flexible, amiable nature and innate aptitude for lyrics and melody quickly made her an appealing choice for a collaboration that resulted in club favorites like the remake of YAZ’ eighties classic, "Situation" on KiKi Records with Mike "Da-Mooch" Mucci in 1998, and "Your Love, Got To Have It" with Krome Avenue for Harlequin Recording Group in 1999. In 2000, CEEVOX was back in the studio doing a remake of the Gladys Knight song," I’ve Got To Use My Imagination" which was Picked up by Star 69 Records and released in 2001 as “My Imagination”.Once again the now signature magnitude of her voice got someone’s attention….Peter Rauhofer."My Imagination" on Star 69 Records began its ascent on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music Club Play List at NO. 38 on September 22, 2001. It swiftly arrived at NO.3 astonishingly, a mere month later on October 22, 2001. Junior Vasquez featured his remix of it on his Earth Music Compilation. In 2002 CEEVOX was back in the studio with Ian Appell (E-N) and released her next Billboard hit "Don’t Leave Me This Way" later that year. In May of 2003, CEEVOX released her "Wurkin" single on Harlequin Recording Group, where she is featured by DJ Alyson Calagna and Barry Huffine aka The Housekeeperz. CEEVOX did two original remixed versions of "Wurkin", The Voxcee Dub Mix and The Tribal Tool Vox Mix. These two tracks will lead the way for CEEVOX in her next move, the production arena.
