Of Mice and Men
By John Steinbeck

May 2 - June 8, 2008
Once in a great while a dramatic theatrical event takes place that demands national attention; such is the case with this groundbreaking revisionist production in which Steinbeck's powerful drama is given an astounding and provocative makeover. In 1942 the U.S. government put the Bracero Program into place, creating a wave of immigration that opened the door to thousands of Mexican immigrants. This daring and profound setting amplifies Steinbeck's themes of loneliness and longing and provides a fresh experience of a classic for Playhouse audiences.
