About Me

Having a passion for history and art history, I have become familiar with the many art movements. From exposure to Mosaics, the Medieval, the Renaissance, the Baroque, Realism, Expressionism to Abstraction, the Subliminal the Cubists and the Surrealist movements, these forms of artistic expression each direct and influence my personal works. Moved by the study of psychoanalysis, science, cosmology and working with computers, my works reflect ideas and theories suggested in these fields. I’ll go from the painstaking efforts required to capture likeness, mood and allure, while executing a drawing of a beautiful woman, to a carefree, lucid, almost random approach (drips & splatters) while working in Pen & Ink. Allowing the unconscious to play a role. I like to work with music as shapes represent sounds. Imposing limits or rules in a composition, as with the ‘Micro series’, where the colors were limited to five and the shapes strictly rectangular. The ideas I attempt to convey or the effects I wish to achieve changes from drawing in pencil to executing a collage. There tends to be a lot of primary and pure colors when I work in color. My greatest satisfaction comes from producing in several media simultaneously. A series of works which I refer to as ‘Si-fi’ can be identified as ‘Caprricio’ (ca 1880). A term that classifies works containing a mix of “ elements of artistic fantasy with actual architectural structures, imaginary works that place normally unrelated elements together that no human eye has seen on earth’ I love the works of Juan Miro, Paul Klee, Jean Dubuffet, Hans Hoffman, Picasso and Georges Braque, the works of the modern artists. The playfulness of the abstract impressionists and the Cubists. The illusion of Dali, the thought provoking works of other Surrealists. I can not finish this without stating my humble respect for the great masters: Da’Vinnci, Michelangelo, Raphael, the drama of their works. Love museums, flowers and kids having fun, making people laugh. Highly intelligent and intuitive. Love Parks, music, travel. Tend to read heavy stuf like nuclear physics, philosophy, science, history. Love good conversation. Real people. Relationships, if one naturally develops.
