Born in 1978, a time when Hip Hop was in Genesis, the love of rap music developed him at an early age. General got the taste of the entertainment industry early on as he watched his cousin perform with the Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff. As he stood and watched every show, he knew where he was going in life! Determined not to succumb to the ills of urban life, this young man decided to pull together his resources and take the music industry by storm. His dream was accomplished recently when Antoine Fuqua (major film director) signed him as his lead artist to his new label on Universal Records. Antoine and General are both excited by the future projects of recording, TV and film.Generals music pours from an open soul visualizing the struggle between right and wrong, hate and love, crime and legitimacy. His live performances have been enjoyed at Rutgers University, the Sony/Epic Music Showcase, Hollywood to Greenville Celebrity Golf Event, Urban Expressions, The Vans Warped Tour of 25 US and 11 European cities (99), The One Man promo Tour (02) and many small clubs around New York, Philadelphia and Chicago.Between all of this activity General has put out an independent single Strange Days produced by Jazzy Jeff for Touch of Jazz Productions. He has written for R. Kelly, Tank, Rome and other ghost writings.General has performed and featured on music with R. Kelly (Fiesta and Like A Real Freak), Tank (Cake and Ice Cream and Ice), Aaliyah, Timberland, Rome, Sharissa, Ice T and Kelly Price. He most recently has written for and recorded with Jazz of the multi platinum recording group Dru Hill.
