About Me

Well, when I was a child I had this amazing plan of how my life would pan out. I'd probably get married at about 21, have had about 4 kids by the time I was 28, and live happily every after. Oh the imagination of children eh? Life didn't quite work out like that, hence the reason I'm still not married and still don't have any kids. We blame this solely on the number of absolute bastards that I've chosen to fall in love with over the years, rather than settle down with some sensible sort who would treat me nice. It's taken me.....oooh, about 35 years to realise where I was going wrong and to understand that my criteria for the ideal man had to change, and quickly if I've got any hope of procreating in the near future. But there is a happy side to this tale (I suppose) because regardless of choosing to fall in love with absolute bastards, most of the time they were the ones who were the most fun, so let's just say that life's not been dull.

My Interests

Victoria Beckham interests me greatly. I find it hard to believe she's real. I cannot believe that somebody that thin actually exists. I have my own greetings card company named after her (well sort of). She is a sure fire guarantee to cheer me up if I'm down in the dumps.Other more realistic interests include reading (avid reader), writing (I'm writing my own book), music (couldn't be without it), and my main interest is shoes and handbags....I obsess about them, but I'm currently on a sponsored NOT ALLOWED TO BUY BAGS AND SHOES. Doing ok so far, but bloody hell it's hard.

I'd like to meet:

Well, there have been four main men in my life, who have often, at times, been my sole reason for getting up in a morning, and they are (in particular order), the very gorgeous John Taylor, the equally sexy Michael Hutchence, the very beautiful Kurt Cobain, and the not-so-beautiful-but-definitely-loveable Shaun Ryder. Now obviously I can't meet Michael or Kurt as they have long since departed this earth for better places. I guess I could meet John, if I could be arsed hauling myself around the country like some saddo just so that I could say "I saw John Taylor, he was about 2 miles away but I saw this dot in the distance and it was definitely him". I have come VERY CLOSE to him. I was within grabbing distance of his very impressive crotch at the Brits in 2004, so I reckon that's probably the closest I'm ever going to get to meeting him. I'm not sure deep down whether I'd want to though, cos often your idols tend to disappoint in real life. Finally Shaun, well I guess he's the easiest person to track down, but even though my reasons for meeting him are significantly different to those of JT, I still don't think I'd be impressed. I think I may get upset. I guess as they're my idols, then I have them on too high a pedastal.So, in their place I'd like to meet any of the following: Holland football team 1988; Ray Stubbs; Frankie Dettori; Tim Roth; Victoria Beckham; the rest of Duran Duran; Ronnie O'Sullivan; Glenn Hoddle; Gary Mabbutt (or his legs at least); Richard Hammond; Jeremy Kyle; and probably numerous others. Altho this list is a bit ridiculous cos actually I'm not that phased by famous folk at all.

Music:

As much as John Taylor, Michael Hutchence, Kurt Cobain and Shaun Ryder are my idols, none of them are actually members of my all-time favourite musical group, who are the god-like GOMEZ!! What a phenomenally fabulous group. It's physically impossible for me to get through a day without listening to at least ONE Gomez track every day. Favourite Gomez tune ever "Silence". Adore it.Also love Duran Duran, INXS, Nivana, Happy Mondays, Charlatans, Amy Winehouse, Blur, The Smiths, The Pixies, RHCP, and basically loads of other stuff. If I had to list every group I liked, we'd be here until christmas, and frankly, I have a life.

Movies:

Free Myspace Drawing Pad at WishAFriend.com ..My favourite films are:Usual Suspects, Trainspotting, Grease, Pulp Fiction, Kes, To Sir With Love. I've not seen any films that rival them, however I do have a secret love of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, although that could have something to do with the very sexy Johnny Depp. Saw HOT FUZZ recently and that was very funny indeed. Liked the new James Bond film, but once again that could be more to do with Daniel Craig than anything else.

Television:

My television watching has dimished somewhat recently. I used to have lots of progs that I couldn't bear to miss, but these days I tend to just watch my faves, which at the moment are HOLBY CITY, Dr Who, Life On Mars, and I dip in and out of Emmerdale, Corrie, and Easties as and when the need arises. I used to be an avid ER fan but for some reason I've gone off it. Maybe 10 years after he left, I've finally realised it's not as good without Dr Doug Ross.

Books:

Irvine Welsh is God! He is a genius, however his latest book "Bedroom Secrets of the Master Chefs" is quite possibly the most apalling book I've ever read, with the crappest story, and not Irvine's usual standard at all. It's so bad I can't even finish it. It is so bad in fact that I've actually WRITTEN to Irvine to complain,and to ask why he felt the need to write such a horrific book. I've not heard back yet. Damn.Love reading autobiographies of anyone. Read Chris Moyles' book in 3 hours on xmas day (not sure what that says about it). Gordon Ramsey's is good, and oddly so is Kerry Katona's (boo-hiss Brian McFadden). Much to the embarrassment of my friend Dom, I bought the Colleen McLoughlin and Patsy Palmer autobiographies last week. I'm working my way through them both at the same time. It's not exactly hard going if you know what I mean. Hahahaha!!! I like Colleen though. Think she's a good girl.Wierdly (or not as the case may be) I get a lot of books off Oprah Winfrey's book club list. Some of the best, most moving, political, interesting, motivating, and beautifully awe-inspiring books I've ever read were bought from there. Some amazing authors with some absolutely heartbreaking stories to tell."And When Did You Last See Your Father" by Blake Morrison is my all time favourite book ever. I've read it about 100 times and cry every time. "E" by Matt Beautmont is also a classic. Read that numerous times too, but rather than cry, I tend to laugh my tits off (although not literally, thankfully).

Heroes:

Famous Heroes: John Taylor (for making me realise at about the age of 8 that I was going to be a devotee to the cause of gorgeous men for the rest of my life); Michael Hutchence for being possibly THE WORLD'S SEXIEST MAN EVER and for just being heartbreakingly brilliant; Kurt Cobain for lots of personal reasons; and finally Shaun Ryder for quite literally, saving my life. No more needs to be said.Non-Famous Heroes: My Grandad who died when I was 18 but will always be the biggest and greatest source of inspiration and love in my life. No greater man has ever lived and will ever live in my eyes. Love him always.
