Well, I taught myself how to play guitar at the age of 15 and I've been teaching myself ever since. I know I'm nowhere near being the best guitarist or even a decent one but I have fun with it. I didn't start singing until maybe at the age of 16 or so. Again, I know I'm not the best singer or songwriter but I like expressing myself this way. I wish I wrote more often. The songs I put on here (only 5 can be up at once so I switch them around from time to time) were recorded on my computer by yours truly... with some recorded in a studio in Kalamazoo, MI, in 2002. I'm still getting the hang of this whole recording thing and someday I plan on getting better equipment and eventually building my own studio. Check back often to see what different songs I've added. If you know of one that's not up here but you want it to be, just let me know! I often neglect changing them out so keep me on top of it! Other than that, I like getting my music out there and communicating with people. I feel like my lyrics are very straightforward and most people can connect with them. Hopefully you like what you hear! Don't be afraid to let me know what you think. I would like to play at more weddings or receptions so if you know of any around here, let me know.
Other than music, here's a little about my personal life: I am happily married and living in Grand Rapids, MI. We got married on 3/3/07 and then went to London and Dublin for our honeymoon. It was awesome! Check my blogs for pics and whatnot. I attend ITT Technical Institute for an Associate's degree in information technology, majoring in multimedia. I already have a Bachelor's degree in broadcasting from WMU so I figured what the hey. Maybe I'll actually get into something I like doing. I'll be done in May 2008 and then my wife Erin and I are getting the hell out of Michigan! We'd like to move to a bigger city, either on the west coast like Seattle or Los Angeles, or down south like Atlanta. I'll go wherever I can find a good job! I'm big into movies, so I'd love to design logos or do animations for opening credits (called visual effects) or even edit trailers... anything! Wish me luck! (updated 9/20/07)

Which Egyptian God or Goddess do you represent? (Pictures!)

Ma'at, Goddess of Order, Harmony, and Truth
Ma'at was the goddess of physical and moral law in Egypt, of order and truth. She was not much of a goddess, but more of a concept. She was what was right; she was the way things should be.
You lead a very well-ordered life. You are just and keep things in balance. You know just how to react to things, and people like you for that.

Influences: Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Ed Kowalczyk (Live), Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace), Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20), Christopher Hall (Stabbing Westward), Butch Walker (Marvelous 3), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Counting Crows, Tool, Sponge, Pearl Jam, Jimmy Eat World, Jars of Clay, The Calling, Creed (I know....), Collective Soul, Stone Temple Pilots, Soul Asylum, Goo Goo Dolls, Dashboard Confessional, etc etc.... but I'd say Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Pearl Jam, and Live were the biggest influences on me when I first started playing guitar because that's what I was listening to at that age.

Now I listen to stuff like Coheed & Cambria, Matchbook Romance, My Chemical Romance, The Starting Line, The Used, Bjork (HUGE fan), Finch, The All-American Rejects, 30 Seconds to Mars, Yellowcard, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, Kenna (awesome stuff!), Fall Out Boy, Something Corporate, Receiving End of Sirens, Straylight Run, Story of the Year, Sam Cooke, John Campos & Bill Jones, Hawthorne Heights, Faith No More, PUSA, Acceptance, A Perfect Circle, all those listed above, Brian McKnight, So They Say, Under the Influence of Giants, Angels & Airwaves, Jack's Mannequin, man oh man does the list go on and on and on.....
Sounds Like: you tell me... i've heard a wide array of comparisons

60 things I learned from my trip to the U.K.

I love flying.  It is such fun.  But it just makes me want to skydive even more. I hate airports.  Being stuck in six of them over a period of 1 week really sucks. Re-entering the USA ...

So I went to Target yesterday to splurge on some CDs.  The main reason I went was to buy the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus's CD.  Eh... it's not as good as I'd hoped.  Their single "Face Down...
