Singing, music theory, acting/drama, Art, reading, running, working out, spending time with friends and family, travelling, sports fan, animal/dog lover (tremendous soft spot for german shepherds), anything outdoors, cooking/baking, interior design, shopping, anything vintage, antiques, laughing - at myself mostly, and enjoying life. My ultimate musical inspiration...
I have an appreciation for all types of music, and that comes from my family genes! I was born into a musically talented and creative family who influenced me from the time I was a very young child. I began playing the piano when I was three years old. I learned to play by ear at first, and then proceeded to take lessons for many years after. I won awards for some of the recitals I was in...that was a lifetime ago!! I grew up listening to classical music often, thanks to my father...RIP Dad. We spent much time listening to music and playing the piano together. I will always cherish those memories. My Uncle Arti (Dad's brother and known to me as "Unca") is a very talented musician, and he has had the opportunity to play guitar and work extensively with many, many well-known musicians. He has also written books on the art/technique of guitar playing, and he has written music for films. I will always have a special love and appreciation for my uncle, and I am proud of him. Some of the musicians my uncle has played/worked with are Alice Cooper, Joe Cocker, Janis Ian, The Supremes, The Fabulous Rhinestones, Tom Jones...there are truly too many to mention. Some other musicians that I find very inspirational are Tina Turner, Jerry Lee Lewis, Stevie Wonder, Shania Twain. Other than my experience with the piano, I am also a classically trained singer. I faithfully perform vocal exercises several times a week. Music is in my blood and it is what I am most passionate about in life. My taste in movies is as diverse as my taste in music. I enjoy a good drama, comedies, ..aries, even some horror films...not really into the action/adventure movies. A few years ago, I worked in the film industry where I landed some extra roles and bit parts in film, and some modelling jobs. I was very fortunate to meet a few famous actors along the way, and I now have a true appreciation of what goes into film-making, behind the scenes. Some of my favorites are: Dances With Wolves, The Notebook (enjoyed the book even more), The Pursuit of Happyness, Somewhere in Time, Serendipity, older movies with Burt Lancaster (my dad's favorite), West Side Story (my childhood favorite), The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Competition, The Sting, 13 going on 30, Working Girl, What's Love Got To Do With It, The Devil Wears Prada, Great Balls of Fire, Braveheart...there are too many to mention.
Don't watch much t.v., only when I have the time! During baseball season, the Yankees are on. I do try to catch Deal or No Deal, I am addicted to "House". The reality show "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" has grown on me. The Office, The Simpsons, A & E Biography...
Aside from the painfully obvious...I admire confident, self-respecting, non-judgmental people who have a kind heart. I have zero tolerance for any type of racism. We are all the same regardless of which physical bodies we were born into, and regardless of what our "status" is among society. I also detest jealousy of any kind. I wish people could just love and support each other despite their differences. I love creative, unique people that know who they are and make no apologies for it! I love a free spirit. This is one of the qualities possessed by Steven Tyler, and it is what I adore and admire most about him. In my opinion, he is the greatest and most charismatic musical performer to ever live. Musically speaking, no performer has ever touched my soul the way Steven Tyler has. I can't forget my family and special friends who are always there for me...true blessings in my life.
