Kendra Carr has been seen singing backup for various artists spanning from Michael McDonald, to Shirley Caesar - she has also had the privilege to work with some of the industries best producers. In 2000 this Florida native along with her family moved to Nashville, TN where they would join the Mount Zion Church, under the leadership of Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III. Being obedient to the Lord and living in a strange land, God favored her to become one of the three Praise and Worship leaders at the main location of Mount Zion which gave her the opportunity to flow in what she was doing back home in Florida. Since then Kendra has been a featured soloist on three compilations CDs Dove nominated Praise in His Presence, Dove nominated Shout in the Spirit, and Bishop Walker Presents Judah Generation, which can also be heard on The Bible Experience New Testament collection.Although having the gift of song she realizes that it's more to it than just the music and the songs. Ultimately those are avenues that God has allowed us to have to build up the kingdom for his glory and not our own. What an honor to lead the people into the presence of God and not just lead them, but worship with them, being broken before them and resting in the presence of God with them. Psalms 51:17, Psalms 34:8, Psalms 136, Matt 11:12 and Romans 8:18 are amongst some of her favorite scriptures.Kendra serves as the Overseer of the Music and Worship Arts Dept. of The Zion Church in Jackson, TN (Mt. Zion’s sister church) under the Pastorate of Jerrell T.
