Music I can dance to, books that aren't boring, movies of all kinds (even bad ones). Drinking, making beautiful things, and seeing the look on someone's face when something I've created makes them happy.
Intelligent people in general interest me. I generally don't care what your politics, religion, or interests are, so long as you're willing to speak intelligently and rationally with me about them. Expect me to disagree. Because I'm contrary like that.
PLEASE NOTE: While I have "dating" listed in my interests, I'm also not interested in getting messages from just any random person. If you want to get to know me better for the purposes of dating, please be sure to read this list of things that will cause me to automatically reject you.
- Smoking. I'm allergic. Deal with it.
- Kids. I want 'em, but not someone else's.
- Bad spelling and/or grammar. I have a degree in English, people.
- A professed love for George Bush. I'm a conservative liberal. Which here in Texas makes me a damned hippie.
- The words "Nice guy," "Pimp," "Prince Charming," racial slurs, or any word which could be used to insult a woman who just shot you down in a bar.
Aaaaand... 5 minutes after putting this up, I've already got a new rule.
- Empty profiles. Especially empty profiles with nothing but girls for friends. If I don't know anything about you, why would I bother to add you? At least have the guts to send me a message or something. Sheesh.
New/Old Rule: I don't friend people I don't know. If you want me to friend you, you better be willing to send me a message. "Hey, How R U? Yr cute." doesn't cut it with me, re-read the above if you can't figure out why. I am looking to meet new people, but you have to actually put effort into it.
Rock, pop, alternative, country that doesn't whine about what's been lost, and rap that doesn't insult women. Classical, oldies, and 80s. Electronica, syth, gothic. And while I don't mind getting friend requests from bands because I like to hear new music, I probably won't approve them.
Practical Magic, Princess Bride, and Moulin Rouge. Die Hard, The Transporter, and Knockaround Guys. Spiderman, X-men, and The Incredibles. The Chronicles of Riddick, all of the Star Trek movies (even the bad ones), and the original versions of the first three Star Wars movies (Han shot first!).
Lost (catching up), Heroes, Law and Order (except for CI), Psych when it's on, Eureka when I can catch it, and Top Chef.
Horror, Sci-Fi, poetry, mysteries, fantasy, and sometimes "men's adventure." Though not if the author is just writing about a more dashing and adventurous version of himself (I'm looking at you, Clive Cussler!).
