About Me

Welcome to my page, fam! What can I say about myself? Well, I am what I am, and what that is I am still learning everyday. One thing I am sure of: I am a child of the Most High God, and He directs my life. I LOVE anything that has to do with music- singing, writing, directing, teaching, just enjoying good music. I've spent most of my life studying music as well as various art forms used in the modern day church to worship God. I also honned my skills as they pertain to teaching, harmonization and blending voices. It was in this time that I learned of the levitical call and the true meanings of praise and worship, recognizing that music was simply the vehicle by which these offerings to God were carried and not in itself the complete picture.
Today, I serve in my local music ministry, directing a special group of worshippers called out to serve with my Bishop in leading the people into unrestricted expressions of worship. I've work with artists and groups all over, teaching, doing background vocals (a passion of mine), and coordinating lyrical productions (concerts, weddings, programs, etc). I've shared the stage with greats such as John P. Kee. Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Vickie Winans, Babbie Mason, John Stevenson, Bishop Joseph Garlington, Byron Cage, Dorinda Clark-Cole, and Ruben Studdard. I've also participated on several recordings, including UAB’s sophomore release, Lessons for Life, Joe Pace’s Shake the Foundation and Mighty Long Way, Gospel Goes Classical Featuring Jonathan Butler and Juanita Bynum, and Judy Jacob's No God Like Jehovah.
I love to lead from the masses; I don't have to have the microphone, but my input and influence is felt as I direct background singers, assist with the administration of the music ministries I work with, and teach the unadulterated Word of God as it applies to the ministry of music. Many may see my degrees, musical experience, and accomplishments and think that I have really done something in this world. Well, they are nothing apart from the destiny and purpose that God would have me use them to fulfill.
I love to love, and I love life. I pour myself into everyone I connect with and everything I do; though few may apprecaite it, it's all I know to do and be. I try to be "on the chill," but I am a very passionate and intense person. That is evident in everything that I do and touch- my relationships, my friendships, my commitments to God and family.
The oil of God's anointing has come not without costs, but I don't despise any of it. Very few people have my glory because they didn't share in my story- my strength, endurance, and determination are the result of the refining process that trials have taken me through. I am an open book- I won't lie to you or hide anything from you. So anything you need to know, just ask. I am truly a work in process, as is this page, so check back from time to time and partake in the transformation that God is taking me through.
"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God." Romans 6:13

My Interests

Singing, recording, and vocal arrangement are my passion. I'm a bit of a computer geek as well.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus, of course. And the REAL me- I'm learning what Tina is all about- my likes, dislikes, dreams- regardless of what others think or expect. And of course YOU. I really set no expectations here on earth. That way each person I meet is a new, exciting experience, not a disappointment.

Music:

This is the greatest psalmist, worshipper, mentor, and man of God I've ever had the privelege to know (and of course one of my bestest frieds)! PASTOR Jermaine D. Manor, doing what he does best: worshipping God, and reflecting HIS glory!

I'm afraid that if I start I'll never stop! Just a few artists that I love: Anita Baker and Sandi Patti (yep, weird combo, but where it all began for me), Take 6, Brian McKnight (hey, he can sing), Earth, Wind and Fire (Thanks, Mr. Mixon), Whitney Houston (before drugs and Bobby), PAtti LaBelle, Stephanie Mills....okay, bringing it up to date, more recent influences: Isreal & New Breed, Maurette Brown-Clark, Darwin Hobbs, Clint Brown, Kurt Carr, Youthful Praise, Myron Butler, Keith Staten, Fred Hammond, Kim Burrell, Claudius Craig, Stephen Hurd, Johnathan Nelson, Earnest Pugh, Jonathan Dunn, Johnathan Butler, Darryl Coley, Tye Tribett, Jason Nelson, Marvin Sapp, and (some older stuff)The Clark Sisters and the Pace Sisters. Some people to look out for-- they are taking over: My sister Angel Molette, L Spenser Smith & Testament and Charles Davids/Trackbox. Musicians include Kirk Whalum, also Wynton Marsalis and Dizzy Gillespie (fellow trumpeteers)...Because of my ministry, most of my time is spent listening to gospel and praise & worship. But I am pretty eclectic when it comes to my musical likes-- from jazz to even country! My friends constantly introduce me to new musical styles, so for me it's all about the overall sound and the message.

Movies:

I'm a hopeless romantic, so any chick-flick works for me!!! All time fav- Pretty Woman. Also the Notebook, the Holiday, Love Jones, The Wedding Planner, Why Did I Get Married, Save the Last Dance 1 and 2, Hitch etc. I also love drama, comedy, action, war movies, fight movies like 300, Troy, Lord of the Rings (I couldn't believe it, either),if it's out and not too demonic, I'll try it (like Saw 1-4: LOVED them). Others to note: August Rush (great music)

Television:

Reba ( I have to watch at least 2 episodes after work before I can function), Army Wives, HGTV, DIY network, Lifetime, the old stuff like Cosby Show and Fresh Prince, Grey's Anatomy, The Game, One Tree Hill (what?), Golden Girls (one of the funniest shows EVER), Frasier (guess it's the geek in me) That 70s Show (I think I saw every episode), Will and Grace (I know, but it IS funny), CSI Miami, Law and Order- SVU (man, the marathons will hook you!).... I'll watch the reality stuff, but they just don't grab me like some good ole, scripted drama!

Books:

Bible, The Five Love Languages, Achieving your Divine Potential(Bishop Jim Lowe), The Purpose and Power of Praise and Worship (Myles Munroe), Exploring Worship, Worship: Believers Experiencing God, From Performance to Praise (Joe Pace), Exploring Worship (Bob Sorge), The Worship Answer Book (Rick Muchow);anything I can get my hands on and time to read, especially if it is about worship or music!

Heroes:

My mother- there is no one more selfless, giving, and strong. Musical heroes, Valerie R. Harris and Jermaine D. Manor (J, thanks for awakening the REAL TINA and helping me to live again!)- I didn't know what music ministry was til I met these guys! Plus, they can sing and play you under a bench! My granny and paw paw (together again in heaven)- they taught me what it is to be a woman, what a true man is, what covenant relationship is, and just what it means to live a life that is pleasing to God. Also, friends like the ones in my slideshow- check them out!
