About Me

'And when you want to Live, how do you start? Where do you go? Who do you need to know?' - Wise words from Mr Stephen Morissey (the consumer monkey). So who do you need to know eh? Obviously not me!Welcome to me world boys and girls. I was born up North in Burnley, Lancashire and spent my youth surrounded by beautiful hill sides and forests, atmospheric urban industrial landscapes and common rat faced weasels. All 3 Star Wars films (yes I have dismissed the other lot), regular repeats of Flash Gordon, The A –Team, Transformers the Movie and Dungeons and Dragons became a heavy dose of classic escapism. With my mother’s looks and felt tip pen skills, I could just about befriend any one to stop me from getting a good kickin. With an early introduction to a Classic Rock concert whilst forming in the womb it became apparent that the roaring frenzy of a Guitar was going to rule my life and so it still does, that and Ronnie James Dio and David Coverdale screaming their big gobs off from their little arses! If you can pull me away from a six stringed beast than it means I like you a lot or I have hand cramp!I try my worst and best as a free-lance Illustrator and have had enough jobs to warrant me to buy some new paints and paper. I currently work as a teaching assistant at a college looking after young scally wags, supplying them with stationary, cameras, wit and huge tales from my impassioned, exhilarant, artistic past.I am currently a tunesmith, Guitar player in the band: Subjects of the City. This is where I do all my moves that I've been practising since the beginning, I would take my top more often (chronic rock posturing is essential)but I am quite hairy now! I also currently play Bass with the lovely chaps in the fantastic 'Jamie Says', this is where I do my best Peter Hook impressions! If you would like to see my art work you can view: www.myspace.com/jamesparkinsonillustrator or www.myartprofile.com/smooAnd if you would like to listen or come and see me band then check out: www.myspace.com/subjectsofthecityTara and all the breast

I'd like to meet:

The biggest Crocodile in the world. George Grosz, Digby the Worlds Biggest Dog. Everybody is welcome in this world, so don't be shy, just don't be a crashing self obsessed bore with nothing of interest to report. As there is no option for 'who I would not want to meet' I attest the following: people who adopt transatlantic accents when they decide to involve themselves in music (like emo, whiney, contrived dick heads), rapists, nefarious Gob Shites of the underworld, dishonest Gob blowers who will not take responsibility for their own actions, anyone who thinks Big Brother offers any value to the Earth and anyone who dislikes Crocodiles.
