I am a producer - an emcee - a DJ - and a studio engineer.
You could say my career in music began in my basement when I began DJ'ing at the age of 14. I taught myself how to work the 1s and 2s, while discovering a love for the music...this led me to the path of a producer.
I've been rappin' since about 6, learning from my brother Rico of Ming Dynasty Records. We used to perform at block parties, re-enacting Big Daddy Kane dance moves and winning any and every contest we could.
As a DJ, my first residency was at a legendary Chicago spot, Essence of Life, which was considered in many circles to be the 'Black Lily' of Chicago. It was in this spot that I hooked up with the UNI crew(Drunken Monkeee, Pyro, 360, Kendall and the rest), as well as other Chicago up and coming artists who still impact Chicago hip hop and it's growth today.
The exposure from the Essence of Life experience opened up the opportunity to become a member of the NUETRONS and USUALL SUSPECTZ, and to establish myself as an emcee and producer. This is also where I carved my niche as an engineer.
As a member of NUETRONS and USUALL SUSPECTZ, I've toured nationwide in over 500 shows with the likes of Supernatural, Slightly Stoopid, KRS-ONE, The Clipse, Twista, Dead Prez, Malik Yusef, Tekitha and others...
I am currently working on my solo project, entitled Do 4 Self, which is the second coming of my first project ever - Practice Self, released while I was a member of the Nuetrons.
Time changes, it's all growth and development.
And if you're wondering why I'm so serious...it's because I am. I say this in my album alot - it will all make sense soon.
