The eccentric top hat wearing Jack White...with whom I am madly in love!! Sorry Stephen!
His broken boy soldiers...with whom I rang in the new year! BANG, BANG! Amazing... width="425" height="350" ...... width="425" height="350" ...... width="425" height="350" ....Okay, so this is not at the Riviera Theatre, but it is still Jack White singing Bang, Bang live. Now, at the Riviera it was much more dramatic and dark. But, this'll do, until some kind soul posts the version of Bang, Bang I saw...Jack white singing "BANG BANG"

Okay, okay. So, I am in love with Meg too.Dave Gahan, lead singer of Depeche Mode...one of my all time favorite groups. He gives an amazingly sexy live performance. Definitely a group to see. The man himself, he's a smooth operator.Ed Hardy, the tattoo master. This is a print from his online shop titled, "Frontier Justice." If only I could get lucky enough to become one of his canvases.
Tamara de Lempicka, I just love her art.In the real world, I like regular people...ones who have a life...people who are solid, grounded, and understand what commitment is really about. I like ethical people, the kind who have principles...whatever they may be. I cannot stand pretentious people...fun, youthful...yes...but not superficial. I like productive people. My friends are good people...people I can trust with my heart. If you are not on the level, you will never be my friend. I don't tend to surround myself with...uh hmm...dysfunction...when possible. I had enough of that growing up and I get enough of it at work. Sense of humor is a great trait...we should be able to laugh at each other. We should have some common interests too. Would you like to be my single serving friend?P.S. Most likely, if you are a band, I will not add you, unless I am CRAZY about your sound. Also, I may not add you if you don't message me first. At this point, I am not just trying to show off with lots of "friends". I want the people I add to be ones I get some kind of enjoyable reciprocation from. No offense on the matter.
Some oekaki artwork...please enjoy. Wouldn't you love to travel here? Or maybe you have as a child... Again, I would swear I have been here before...only when I was much, much younger...and could still fly.

"But now....., but now..., now, now, now, now, now..." it is the Raconteurs. They are actually pretty good, though I hope Jack doesn't forget about sweet Meg. Well now, after seeing them live on New Year's Eve, I stand corrected. They aren't pretty good, they kick a double s.
I must also pay homage to the bands who made me who I am today...Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Lenny Kravitz, U2, Violent Femmes, the Cure, Core STP, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode and, perhaps, my favorite album of theirs...

Add to My Profile | More Videosand lots of 80's bands too, but INXS especially! I am an 80's child that grew into adulthood in that timely grunge movement. What a great time for teenage angst it was!
Another pivotal album was Blood Sugar Sex Magik by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.Oh, how my love for them was dashed to bits when we saw them in concert finally. :( One of the worst shows ever...nonetheless, I still love that album.Red Hot Chili Peppers - Breaking The Girl

Besides the Stripes and No Doubt, I also like Ben Harper and Coldplay. They are both quite respectable live and otherwise. You've got to love The Beastie Boys...they've got that dee double oh, dee double oh style! The Reverend Horton Heat is one of my favorite bands. We have seen them lots. Th' Legendary Shack Shakers are a great live band (one of the best we have seen), but you should really stand back...way back, unless you enjoy getting strange DNA tossed or spat your way. Of course, Johnny Cash is wonderful and the newest Loretta Lynn/Jack White collaboration is entertaining. The Everybodyfields, The Biscuit Burners, Creech Holler and some excellent foot stompin'...
...their first album is AWESOME, but their live show is even better than THAT, Munly and The Lee Lewis Harlots, Linda Strawberry, and Know Naught Sarah are a few other noteworthy musicians.
Primarily...I enjoy bluegrass, old country and twang, punk, the more bluesy southern rock, the blues in general, future perfect, folk music, jazz, limited metalhead, and rockabilly. With music, I most enjoy a mellow, soulful tune, an energizing melody, or a great story the best.
(Thanks to Jason for "lending" me the following picture!)
We are also avid supporters of the efforts of David Whaley and his newest band the Swinging Pachyderms. The idea for their namesake, the infamous Murderous Mary and a bit of local history...
Pulp Fiction, Lost Boys, Reality Bites, Closer, Before Sunrise, After Sunset, The Island, Great Expectations,The lovely, damaged, and cruel Estella..."She'll only break your heart, it's a fact...and even though I warn you, even though I guarantee you that the girl will only hurt you terribly, you'll still pursue her. Ain't love grand? Chicka Boom..."Fight Club, Johnny Cash, School for Soundrels, Greta Garbo's silent flicks, Quills, Garden State, the first Matrix, Sin City, The Departed, Frida, Amelie, The Never Ending Story, Fifth Element, Dancer in the Dark, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,"Oh my darlin', oh my darlin', oh my darlin' Clementine, you are lost and gone forever...", 12 Monkeys, Snatch, Memento, The Virgin Suicides, Donnie Darko, I heart Huckabees, Gattaca, Shaun of the Dead, Underworld, the Blades, Mirrormask, Star Wars, Star Wars, Star Wars, most Tim Burton films, and the Kill Bills. A fun art movie to watch is Me, You, and Everyone We Know, no matter what Sarah Whaley says!! Dr. Strangelove is an interesting classic... Don't you just love a good romance??
Not so much...unless nonstop myspace surfing counts??? American Idol, I just CANNOT help myself. :) House is cool, as is Scrubs. Conan always rocks too, with his cute little red head! My Name is Earl is fun, but I never get to watch it.Oldies but goodies are Seinfeld and La Femme Nikita. I almost forgot Buffy. I know you really needed crackers to watch it sometimes, but when it had steam, boy did it! The anime version of Aeon Flux was cool...I am not sure I ever really got it, but it was different, beautiful, and mysterious.
The LOR trilogy and The Hobbit are great books, really some of the first books that turned me on to reading. Johnny Cash was a very good read that made me miss having grandparents around. Geisha: A Life is a more recent read. Excellent cultural study for those interested in such things. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is one of my all time favorites. Food that falls from the sky...how awesome is that?? I like interesting auto/biographies and histories; science fiction, fantasy, and books that take me to new and exciting places; and, children's books. I am currently reading a book about Black Beard the pirate and folk tales of Ocracoke Island. I am also actually reading Bushido now. I have previously just looked at the pictures and daydreamed longingly. I think I'll start collecting Ed Hardy and Horiyoshi books next, when I come into money. :)..
Girls that kick butt, like Nikita or O-ren Ishii...or in the real world, like my Mom.Roger. Brian Herman. Stephen. The Autobots. Popeye (because he ate his spinach)... Snake Eyes from the 80's G.I. Joe series, where "knowing is half the battle." What a great life lesson. If only most adults realized this...social work would not exist...so what if I'd be out a job??And last, but definitely not least, there's Marla...any woman who can wear used bridesmaids' dresses, beautifully, all over town, while invading men's support groups is someone to be admired...and feared.
