Harsh Truth was a short lived band. We only did a few shows back in 1990 and again in 1996. It's too bad we were plagued with bad luck in flaky band members from the start. We got together in 1989 with Rich Newberger (original Gut Instinct singer/Sowers Of Discord) on vocals, Josh Hart (Stout/Curse Of Years) on bass, Josh (Initial Reaction) on guitar and Kenny Wagner (Double Cross) on drums. Greg Clark (Curse Of Years) replaced Josh on guitar and we did some shows until Greg split which pretty much brought everything to a halt. We recorded 3 tracks in 1994 with Chad Rush (Next Step Up/Sowers Of Discord) filling on drums and Josh playing guitar and bass. You can hear 2 of these on this site and on the Baltimore: Belly Of The Beast comp on Cornerstone Records. Look for them to also be released as a very limited pressing 7" on A389 Records this summer. In 1996 when we formed again with Aaron Martinek (Next Step Up/Hell To Pay) on bass (Josh switched to guitar) and Mike Kreller (Next Step Up/Unyoung Heros) on drums. Again we did a couple shows and wrote some new songs but it just wasn't clicking so it fell apart again. We reunited in 2006 for the Gut Instinct shows in Baltimore and NYC at CBGB and a show in December 2006. As of now we're just taking things as they come with the current line up as we were asked to play Ninjafest in London and Circle Pit Fest in Baltimore in 2007. More shows to come.
Our new 6 song EP "Life Is Perfect" will be out soon on Cornerstone Records limited to 100 copies of the first pressing. Stay tuned.
