Acid Umbrellas is an alternative band from Moscow, Russia. Its music represents a variety of genres from funk and hip-hop to hardcore and pure noise.
The band was formed in 2000 in Ekaterinburg, Russia. At that time Acid Umbrellas had more strict rapcore sound. The band also was known for their scenic, sometimes theatrical performance during live shows. That still remains the significant trait of Acid Umbrellas.
In 2000-2004 Acid Umbrellas made a huge success on the local Ural scene, playing shows and organizing musical and literature perfomances (one of the most remarkable of all was the concert in support of the convict writer Edvard Limonov). The band's members at that time were Igor "MC Leesnick" Lisnik (vox), Andrey Telminov (guitar), Oleg Chevdar (bass), Polina Rjabinina (drums).
In 2004 the band moved to Moscow. Within a year Andrey Telminov and Polina Rjabinina left the group. They were replaced by Mikhail Ivanov and Peter Miroshnik. After that the band's sound changed radically - the approach to music became much more experimental, representing a mixture of different music styles.
