I’m sitting here after a long long day. The sunset is perfect. You know when it almost looks like someone painted it? I wish I was a better writer, I would be able to tell you why it almost makes me weep.
This is our last night in the mansion. All the furniture is gone, there are no cameras and it's very dark. It feels so lonely. Tomorrow I step onto the stage and perform for you all one last time. I can't begin to tell you how much I love the gentlemen that make up the rock group INXS. I would do this 100 times over to prove to them that I am worth it.
Remember to always believe in yourself my friends. If anyone calls you a dreamer remind them that the building they work in came from a dreamer, the car they're driving came from a dreamer. The computer they love, the cell phone they use, movies and music they escape in - all came from dreamers.

Hey Everyone!
Well it's come down to the three of us. What a ride what a ride! I hope I expressed to everyone how important you all are to me! This past summer I have learned to respect everyone who comes into my life! I have learned that your true friends are the ones that accept you because of your faults. I also believe that you should strive to gain the things that no one can ever take from you. Honesty, dignity, kindness, integrity, to name a few. I discovered that you should always make room, for one day you too will need some space. I feel like I've been born here.

Today I woke up to find a brand new Honda Civic in the driveway. Cool. I think I'm going to donate it to a family I read about from New Orleans. Sometimes when things are given to us, we should think about directing that generous energy into something or someone else.
I would like to thank you all for a wonderful summer! Please hold on to your dreams and make each moment count. For in the end all we have are our memories. I hope to make music with INXS. If I end up going home, I promise that I will continue to create music. I now have so much inspiration from you all that I feel like I need ten arms to write everything down.

I remember when I first got here the house was buzzing with Brandon, Daphna, Heather, Ty, Jordis, Neal, Dana, Deanna, Jessica, Tara. Now it seems so empty here with just the four of us. This next week - one of us will be a member of INXS.

Thank you all for making "Pretty Vegas" your favorite original song. I can't express to you all how much your votes meant. For me it’s more than just a vote, it's a voice - you made my voice your voice! We showed the world that when people act together they can do great things. Now let’s make our voices heard again in support of our brothers and sisters who have suffered though a tragedy of horrific proportions. We must focus our thoughts and prayers. We must send our love to those in need. We also had the honor of performing with INXS. The song "Us” is a strong message. "Us" is a social dissection that exposes an important ingredient we must have in order to achieve peace and harmony - heart. What INXS has created is a message that must be carried across the world with the hope that there will be balance. I am honored and humbled to know them. I've been listening to music since before I could speak. There haven’t been a lot of songs in top radio spots that speak about the need for global understanding. If we could just hear more music about what we have to look forward to as opposed to music about the "fear of something" then maybe we will stop just "listening" to music and start "hearing" it again. "We are the people we've been waiting for."

Looking back to February 4th
It was Feb 4 that I auditioned for Rock Star: INXS. So that’s seven months of involvement. We only have a couple of weeks left now. The competition is really stiff and it's getting harder to "wow" INXS. Last night I sang "Come As You Are" by Nirvana and an original piece called "Pretty Vegas". By this time next week there will only be four of us. If this happens to be my last week on the show, I just want to let you all know that thanks to you this has been the greatest experience of my life. I will continue to write music and sing my heart out!

With less than three weeks left, things are getting very exciting around this mansion (haunted hotel). I’m singing "Come As You Are" and "Pretty Vegas" at the next performance show. Thanks to you (my friends) I'll have a chance to do the song I gave to Jessica. "Come As You Are" is a potent rock classic. I only hope I can kick the s*%t out of it! "Pretty Vegas" is an original inspired by the master Andrew Farriss. It is written along with the track he gave us for our song-writing clinic. I want to thank Marty, Suzie, MiG and Jordis for allowing me to do it. They saved themselves a long night of arguments (hahaha). P.S. You know you had a great night when you wake up with birthday cake in your ass.

So the best part about being in the bottom 3 was I had a chance to sing an INXS song. The guys selected "This Time" to be my song. It's a great tune. I wish I could have had another to follow up with. I love singing INXS's stuff. The way they write is very organic. Ty Taylor was sent home. I hope he realizes what an amazing talent he has. Taking over the world should be no problem, because he'll do it with love and honesty. He is truly inspirational. (LOVE YOU BRO) So now… "and then there were 5."

Last night was a very interesting evening. I was very proud to be a part of such a fantastic show. I did "Suspicious Minds." I loved performing that song as myself. I took a little heat from the boys in INXS. You may all vote me into the bottom three this week. But that's cool. I didn't come here to sing “Cold As Ice” or “Suspicious Minds” - I came here to sing INXS.

Last night we performed at Universal City Walk. It was a great show. Jordis opened with "What You Need" then MiG sang "Living On A Prayer" followed by Marty doing "What I Like About You." Ty Taylor did an excellent job with "You Spin Me ‘Round (Like A Record)." After Ty, I got up and did "Rebel Yell" and Suzie finished with "Don't Change." Richard Blade, the MC for the evening, did a great job keeping all those fans on the edge of their seats with his brilliant introductions. I had a great time meeting hundreds of fans.

We had a party at the mansion. I broke down and had a few cigarettes. However today is a new day and I'm ready to concentrate on winning this thing.

August 20th
Well, day one without cigarettes. Had a few withdrawals but nothing I couldn’t handle. I'm just keeping myself busy by writing music. Tuesday's show should be great. I'm singing "Cold As Ice". I beefed it up a bit and it sounds great. The house band is very easy to work with and it's nice to be involved with that level of talent. Also they are the most professional group of guys I have ever had the honor of sharing a stage with. This show has been one of the greatest times of my life. I have learned to overcome insecurities, see the bigger picture and to always respect others. Sometime in my past I have let my insecurities get the better of me. The end result - not good. People have lost respect for me over things that I thought were beyond my control. I now see a bigger picture and it helps to put that word "control" into perspective. What do we really have control over? Someone once told me that "will isn't the strongest power, it’s the only power." I'll keep you posted on the "non-smoker" life. Until then…

I sort of lost sight of the bigger picture. It's about music. It's about connection. I've been so busy I almost forgot I have a birthday on Sept 1st. I hope to celebrate it here at the Mansion.

Last Night we all went out to RokBar. It's owned by Dave Navarro and Tommy Lee. I don't think anyone here (the other contestants) understands me. They think they do but they don’t. I hope they all have a place in their hearts for me. Back to business -- I am here to win. The only new friends I want to make sit across the stage from me when I perform. And also MiG and Marty -- I think they "get" me.

We went to House of Blues. We got to hang out with Dave Navarro, Scott Weiland (from Velvet Revolver) Slash and as an extra bonus--Garry Beers and Jon Farris showed up. What a night. I saw Scott rip into some Sex Pistols. Cypress Hill, Slash and Mr. Navarro closed with “Paradise City.” What a night!
August 4th
INXS sent home Tara Slone. As a songwriter, I found her to be most interesting. She was the smoking, drinking, swearing Buddha. As far as life at the mansion is concerned, it’s game face time. I’m planning on being in the gym, no bed or wine. And drum roll… Please…. I will try to stay on “the patch” until I kick this nasty habit (smoking). My life has been so blessed and I have fought many battles to be here. Growing up I always believed that I would go somewhere. I remember many nights crying myself to sleep because I had come so close to my dreams only to have them vanish before my eyes. But, now those dreams are here. I’m here.

It's been a month already. I'm really starting to miss my friends and family.
I'm also longing for my friends back in Nova Scotia. At the beginning of the summer I discovered a great blues jam bar. It's called Fibbers and is always full of talent. It's right in the heart of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. It's got the most beautiful staff and the food is awesome.
I guess being in the top ten is where it's at. I got to party with Hugh Hefner and seven of his playmates the other night. We went to "Prey".

My Performance of “We Are the Champions” was a daze. I looked out into the audience and saw my beautiful sister. Her brown eyes so big and full of love. Sarah-Jane has been one of the main driving forces in my life. To see her well up with tears made me reach a place in my heart I have only dreamed of. I didn't care what was coming out of my mouth. Because at the moment my heart was completely filled.

I'm excited about my next performance for two reasons. One, my sister and her husband will be in the audience. They've come all the way from Florida to L.A. I haven’t seen them since their wedding two years ago!
And Two I'll be singing "We Are The Champions" by Queen. That song is a challenge for me. I think it's the strongest song out of the twelve. If I perform it well I should be safe.
Life at the mansion is very bizarre. I've had to change my game plan to achieve my goal. I'm learning about friendships and I'm trying to correct some faults within myself.
