FILMS: IMITATION OF LIFE - IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE MOVIE - I CRY EVERY SINGLE TIME. Also City of God, OldBoy, Mr Smith Goes To Washington - I love old mid-afternoon movies that make you late to go get your kids - lol you know what im talking about - OLD Columbo - I love Columbo!!!! Crooklyn, Roots, West Side Story, City of God, Persuit of Happiness. Roots, Color Purple, Above the Rim, King Kong, Old Skool with Will Ferrell, Hotel Rwanda, Basketball Diaries, When We were Kings, The Champ- I cried....'dont die champ' agh! Mo Better Blues, Hoop Dreams, Raising Victor....Buena Vista Club, Dancehall Queen, ROCKERS, all old school musicals, and The Harder They Come....Old black and white movies too- hate westerns and horrors - cant watch horrors @ 27 i will get nighmares! ....and Sex and The City volume 1-6, i'm a chic get over it!!! Well I did untill Johnny Vegas said it was just promoting women to be slags- so now im not too sure I should be saying I love sex in the city- eekI like funny movies, i like movies that make me cry, i lkie movies that move me and inspire me. I like what i like and i dont know what i'l like untill i see it.
TV: Agh its on when but i never sit still enough to watch programmes all the way through yah know....thats a lie actually....Im a secret soap fan but I scoff all the way through. I hate Reality TV and anything that shows rich people clumming it, Celebrities 'are down to earth' or any fit clubs, cleaning, cooking, raising your children - I HATE ALL THEM TYPES OF CRAP ON TV....if you need to watch a woman tell you how to cook, clean and look after your kids - You need Jesus and then you need to call your Grandma...true story we need to bring back listening to Grandma!!!!!
BOOKS: I must have been the only child at six reading African Myths and Legends. Stories of Princess Nzinga (sp) and black kings and queens. I read young I read about my history young.....I read about religion, the British education system, mental slavery- YOU NAME IT my dad made me read it....which kid is told off for saying Christopher Columbus was a dirty stinking liar- only my fathers child-lol! But knowledge gives you a head start. I have too many books to mention. I read sparatically too, which for a wrtiter is very bad. I started reading perfectly at three. I come from a family who enjoy rerading and is apart of family life. I loved reading and so listing mbooks....is like listing every emotion felt in every memory I have ever had- impossible.The first book i fell in love with was Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, by Mildred D Taylor.Last book I read was Sue Townshead---------- A.A.Mole and the weapons of mass destructions- --------funny ass book! Going to go back and read all the ones before it.
HEROES: Everyone of my ancestors that paved the way for me. I mean that to my deepest soul. But also my heroes are the people doing life right now, but stepping out of that box.
