Cathedral Park to re-release "Monument" w/bonus tracks and music videos for the songs "Drive" & The Suburban Dream". Bonus footage will include interviews with the band and footage of cast and crew.
A unique and emotionally raw album, "Monument" evokes the sensation of the inevitable, but desirable, death by drowning. Still a glimpse of hope remains through the records peaks and valleys, with just enough room lyrically for the listener to make it their own.
After much touring and praise for their efforts in Portland's Gothic rock band "Ghost Parade", 2002- 2006. Singer-Keyboardist Autumn" and Basses Bryn Shoop" set out to pursue "Cathedral Park". Forming in 2002 as mainly a recording project and artistic outlet, “Cathedral Park” can best be described as a dark wave or synth pop band influenced by such artists as Peter Murphy, Depeche Mode, early Cure, Sisters of Mercy and David Bowie. Holding onto their originality and signature sound, “Cathedral Park” tends to use analog recording technics, adding to the swirl of strings and backward masking pieces, held together by Bryn's deep bass tones and Autumn up front Bowie-esk forward vocals. Carefully crafted lyrics with open ended story lines create imagery of dark dreamlike surreal landscapes with many visions of hope. Cathedral Park is currently piecing together tour dates to include the Western United States and Europe. News and dates for the 2008 Monument tour coming soon.
