We are purpose. We are power. We are passion. We are praise.

About Me

Let's not make this all about me, but then again...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who have a lot to talk about, Believers who are all about Jesus, "Superchicks" who know how to strengthen other "Superchicks" and everyone else who is just trying to do the danggone thang.

Music:

I Ipod everything: Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond (their worship music is unmatchable), Superchic[k](makes you want to go do something good), Norah Jones (never disappoints me), Ice Cube (west coast never sounded better), Bob Marley ("Old pirates yes they rob I..."), Cher (yes, I said Cher. What?), Etta James, Michael Buble (gotta have at least 1 crooner), Journey (the pipes on Steve Perry - like butta), Joss Stone (how can a chick from the UK have this much soul?), Avalon, Alanis Morissette (You Oughta Know), Carlos Santana, Switchfoot, Maroon5 (I liked them from "Harder to Breathe") Coldplay, Kem, Vinx (summertime beach music), Rachael Lampa (she ministers to me), Aerosmith and much MUCH more. Sting, Stevie Wonder & Prince are 3 in a very short list of people I consider to be musical geniuses. Still love OLD Whitney Houston. 80's music is still current music to me! Vanessa Bell Armstrong has the best female gospel voice out there (Kim Burrell is a close 2nd). Christina Aguilera & Mariah Carey have range and "runs" out of this world. Celine Dion is unmatched in her genre. Bebe & Marvin Winans never disappoint, and Richard Smallwood w/Vision is my favorite choir of all time. Right now though, J Moss has the corner on make gospel voices. His ear is insane! If it's good, I'll listen to it. If it's great, I'll Ipod it.

Movies:

I love movies, so I can only list a few of my faves. My all-time favorites are The Princess Bride, 300, and The Color Purple. I also really like Love Actually, Passion of the Christ, Fifth Element, Pretty Woman, the Lord of the Rings trilogy (particularly Two Towers), Signs & Unbreakable (M. Night Shyamalan is one of my favorite directors). Great twists/plots: The Usual Suspects, American Beauty, Memento. Great love story: Shakespeare In Love. Great dialog: When Harry Met Sally, Sling Blade. Great musicals: My Fair Lady, Grease, The Sound of Music, Moulin Rouge, Little Shop of Horrors. I'll never forget: E.T., The Godfather, Top Gun, Star Wars, Boyz 'N the Hood, Poltergeist, Apocalypto. On the edge of my seat: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Silence of the Lambs, Alien, Jurassic Park, The Bourne Identity, 28 Days Later, The Patriot. Best animated: Incredibles, Iron Giant, Polar Express, Little Mermaid. Whole box of tissue sad: Philadelphia, Titanic, Legends of the Fall. Great visual effects: Contact, Matrix, 300. Others that deserve to be listed: Castaway, Gladiator, Ronin, The Mexican, A Knight's Tale, Coyote Ugly, Waterboy, Payback, Crouching Tiger...,13th Warrior, Fresh.

Television:

What did I do before TiVo? Throughout the week depending on the season I TiVo: Grey's Anatomy, House, Bones, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Mad Money, The Closer, Hell's Kitchen, Flip This House, Dirty Jobs, Doctor Who, Battlestar Gallactica, Stargate Atlantis, America's Best Dance Crew, and more.

Books:

You know I gotta read my Word! Outside of that, I will read almost anything. I love reading a great book and being disappointed when it ends. That is the best feeling - to know that the author brought you into their world for a few days. Memoirs of a Geisha did that for me and The Touch by Colleen McCullough. I dumped The Godfather Returns. I just couldn't get into it. Now I'm reading some sci-fi romance. We'll see how that goes.

Heroes:

Everyone says that their mother is their hero. Of course my mother is my hero. She is always HERE for me. A child doesn't understand the sacrifices of a parent until they are much older, or until they become a parent themselves. In order of sacrifices for me, my mom is 2nd only to Jesus... and "hero" just ain't the right word for that.
