About Me
Blue Marmalade was started a long time ago by a group of individuals that care about the value and integrity of music. We've slowly shaped over time, this unique group of musicians have unified for one motive: playing together as one entity. In 1997 we gained success thru playing on Ken Kesey's flatbed truck @ the Dexter Lake Shake & Bake, delivering our talent thru the underground people, those who were willing to promote us. Jason McLain and Chris Bodine backed the original group and we would like to recognize their efforts. Traveling w/ the help of David Shonk and Warren Magnuson, we often volunteer our time to gatherings and festivals put together by musical devotees. This includes the "Blue Moon Festival" in the west hills of Portland. Nate always keeps his mind on the Bay Area and its successes. Nate is always recording, producing, networking and trying to connect to the people who do the same. Slowly, from 2000-2004, Blue Marmalade started gigging heavily in the San Francisco Bay Area and recording @ The Expressions Center for New Media.
Around this time, we added to our collective family. Paul a.k.a. P-Funk (drummer) then recruited Nate into "The Jam Sessions" in Oakland, CA. This was created by a group of people dedicated to the exellence of preforming live, in front of people that understood that music has no boundries or limits. Blue Marmalade has played for thousands of audiences, both in the Bay area and in Portland. With multiple bass players, drummers, dj.s, and other musicians, we often travel in excess of 700 miles @ a time to get to our gigs, while building our group and musical talents collectively.
All along the way, Nate has been hooking up w/ the underground dj's, and is being recruited by Sophonic Inc. In an effort to connect live element situations for the ambiguous guitar player, Nate is often looking for both acoustic and electronic band elements . His goal, along with Blue Marmalade, is to reach out further to the world in order to continue our mission in the tradition of Bill Graham Presents. Drawing from such artists as Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana, Nate a.k.a white funkadelic , has driven this "train", Renegade Train Productions, and will continue to do so for years to come. Thank you for your support... ya'll~n
