*****BEKI & THE BULLETS***** BEKi & THE BULLETS – A dancefloor-crashing POP expolsion!- with a twist of lemon and a shot of tabasco .. “We want our music to make you dance like crazy,cry like crazy-ANYTHING!…just feel alive and inspired when you hear it…coz we do”..Beki T. Created by the pink haired, big eyed Lauper-esque Beki T and her musical partner in crime Nik Daniel. The band formed in 2004 in Melbourne ,Australia and were quickly snapped up by Roadrunner Records on the strength of a demo…and the curiosity factor,as Beki and Nik were both previously in Chart-topping,multi ARIA award nominated,gold selling alternative pop band “The Mavis’s” who split in 2001. They have a mixed bag of influences ranging from Butch Walker,Cyndi Lauper,The Cure,B-52’s,Missing Persons to….The Cars,The Academy Is and The Rocky Horror soundtrack. Beki & The Bullets released their glistening debut ‘Tuning In’ Ep in 2005, received rave reviews and did a handful of electrifying shows. A lineup change that now consists of Beki T- vocals,Nik Daniel-guitar, Andy Durling- Guitar,Dee Cooke-bass and Keith Ratnan –bass and change in direction saw the band part ways with Roadrunner and head more into the big, wide, ever- expanding digital world,signing on with The Orchard/Amphead Music. NEW EP out now ! - Title track “Wait and See” has been described as "The Cure meets The Go-Go's" and the video clip is a MUST SEE with it's Desperatly Seeking Susan vibe and cameos from some of Melbourne's up & coming rock/popstars..and was directed and shot by award winning film maker Nicholas Verso. When it comes to songwriting,Beki wears her heart on her sleeve …”The best songs seem to write themselves…spewing out of the pen from some other dimention…..a bit like an exorcism I guess..and then I get in trouble coz people find out stuff I didn’t even know I knew” Herself and Nik share a special creative bond, they’ve been writing together since they were kids and realize they are blessed to have such a partnership “We are like song soulmates” says Beki…”We totally understand each other and are on the exact same page musically and thank God we have bandmates who trust our vision, are amazing and don’t think we’re mad….actually, maybe they do think we’re mad.” The Bullets are managed by Gary Mackenzie-(Amphead Music CEO and head of The Orchard Australasia) and they have just signed on to be co-managed in The UK by Neil Cartwright (Digital manager for Jamiroquai) ...They are heading to Berlin in September to showcase at the massive POPKOMM festival as pert of the New Found Frequency 'xoxo TOUR' ...the tour will also take them through Europe. Beki and the boys will then be venturing to New York and LA for more shows. They have signed on with ultra cool Spanish label STKM and the clip has recently been added to Spanish music television and is recieving several spins a day. The band will also be included on two American compilation albums to be released later in the year through Los Angeles label 'Filthy Little Angels'.....one being a tribute to iconic musical 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'...the other is a selection of bands paying homage to hits of '1987'....Beki and The Bullets chose to do Madonna's 'Open Your Heart'- It's an AWESOME version and the band were lucky enough to work with Pseudo Echo's Brian Canham on the track!...Its to be released on Line in August! .......stay tuned......*****NEW SONG "WAIT & SEE" IS NOW HERE ON MYSPACE FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE*****
