I like the outdoors, optimism, music, Trivial Pursuit, friends, cooking, reading, the sciences, stand-up comedy, Victoria's Secret, sushi, traveling, diggnation, a good conversation, guys who wear glasses, peace, coffee, your mom, brainiacs, beer, podcasts, people-watching, laughing, mass spectrometry, knowing how things work, daisies, dancing to jazz by candlelight, tall men, intimate gatherings, big words, chocolate, red wine, politics, Utah football, photography, and meeting new people.
Tall, handsome, smart, funny gentlemen who have their shit together (and preferably have NO, as in ZERO, kids). Nerdy intellectual types. Potential boyfriends. Any young single professionals, really. My pool of single friends is dwindling. I don't want to meet this guy or any of his frat brothers. Smokers need not apply, either. Thank you.
I love music, I wouldn't be where I am in life without it. I have a very eclectic music collection and I always have new favorites. The Beatles, The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, and Dave Matthews Band are among the current favorites. I've really been on a jazz kick for the past year or so. I love the cool sounds of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Ella Fitzgerald is amazing. Even the new jazz sounds of Norah Jones and Jamie Cullum appeal to me. I love going to the symphony. On any given day, my play list could include one or all of the following: Metallica, U2, Billy Joel, Elton John, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, The Cure, Stan Kenton, Willie Nelson, Charlie Parker, The Ramones, Tower of Power, and/or Cake. I can't stand the pop/hip-hop/R&B turn the music industry has taken. To me, it isn't real music, it is just something to generate a lot of money. It's a bunch of no-talent ass clowns with a supposed pretty face or a hot body making noise with the aid of a sound machine. Country singers are a bunch of whiny bitches, I don't particularly care for that genre either.
I watch very few movies. I prefer comedies- something that will make me laugh. Brewvies is my favorite theater because a) you can drink beer and b) there are no kids.
I watch 0-3 hours of TV a week. That's it. TV kind of bores me. Actually, it's the commercials I cannot tolerate. Shows I'll watch: Grey's Anatomy, Crossing Jordan, Law and Order: SVU, NCIS, and the occasional Star Trek rerun. Oh please. Like you hadn't figured out I was a geek by now. Ooh! My new favorite show is The Office.
I am a bibliophile. I'm always in the middle of a few different books. Just ask me what I'm reading, you'll get a different answer each time. Current books: The Historian, The Moral Animal, Guns Germs and Steel, and Clincal Chemistry. The Life of Pi and The Time Traveler's Wife are on deck. Oy. I have lots of reading to do.
