Anna's Tammy Memorial For Tammy & Her Fans

About Me

FAN OF THE WEEK Kenny is fan of the week this week. He was the 4th person to respond to my Tammy Fan's Album. Kenny says, "Oh wow, how do I feel about Tammy? I miss her and new music she may have recorded and she would have. Her voice was and is amazing. I could literally sit back and listen to Tammy and her music for hours. I just listen to really HEAR it, tune out the world so it's just her voice. The songs, man, the songs, pure real-life and you can hear it in her voice so soft and yet sometimes the pain came through with that little catch in her voice that I love and made her so unmistakingly identifiable, when Tammy came on the radio we didn't need to be told who it was, we knew, because we knew that voice, same with Loretta, 2, legends, great friends. I dont think that happens today which is sad, so much I guess I could say, lol, but Tammy was and is an original, she fought hard to get to where she got, sheer determination and spunk!!! But, Tammy will forever be with us as fans, she lives in us all through her music and her memory, that's Tammy for me..." Kenny is 48 and lives in Tennessee. His favorite Tammy song is, "I Wasn't Meant To Live My Life Alone". From Georgette on April 22, 2008 "Thanks for what you do for my Mom and for supporting me here, too.Georgette"This is my memorial to a lady born near Red Bay, Alabama in humble beginnings that went on to gain worldwide acclaim as The First Lady Of Country Music. She was the definiton of class and had a voice like no other. I have been a fan since she came on the music scene in the 60's. With her wonderful voice like no other and the words of her songs I readily identified with her. My first album of hers that I owned was D-I-V-O-R-C-E and I played it until I wore it out. This page is in memory of her. It is also for myself and all her other fans. LET'S ALWAY REMEMBER AND KEEP HER MUSIC ALIVE! My Interests

From meager beginnings near Red Bay, Alabama to worldwide acclaim as "The First Lady Of Country Music". Tammy Wynette overcame many obstacles as she set new standards for country vocalist, especially women. Signing with Epic records in 1966, she ended the decade with three consecutive "Female Vocalist Of The Year" awards. Her classic "Stand By Your Man' stood for 15 years as the largest selling single in country music. During her career, she sold more than 30 millions records, had 35 number one hits, won two Grammy awards, and was the first female country artist to have a platinum album. She had four daughters - one with George Jones (Tamella Georgette)- whom she was married to for a number of years. They were one of the most famous country music duets.
