:: BIOGRAPHY ::
SIR GIANT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT MEANS: A ONE AND ONLY PERSON!
Sir Giant was formed in 2005 when Tiago joined his creativity as a writer and composer and combined it with management and design. It all started in a recording and rehearsal studio built by him in 2002, where the first songs of what would later become his first EP, were created.
In its early beginning, Sir Giant started to perform live and participated in a few band competitions with Tiago singing and playing the drums. Short after that, the initial formation of the band was changed and Tiago became just the vocals.
In May 2005 Tiago recorded and produced Sir Giants first EP which was released on the 9th of September, in Lotus Bar, Cascais, Portugal. The EP was co-produced by Miguel Marques (Easyways Guitarist) and Di, his recording and mixing assistant. Tiago did everything from songs, lyrics, played drums / bass / guitars / sang and did the arrangements to the instruments: drums, bass, guitars, turntables, saxophone, programming and vocals. Some songs had the special contribution of Nuno - Bass ["Our Natural Love", "Breaking a wall" and "My Life (I Won't stop)"], Mark Cain (ex Primitive Reason's player) - Saxophone ["Our Natural Love", "Mr Dangerous" and "Breaking a Wall"] and Bernardo (from BOSS AC) - Turntables ("I'm 25", "Breaking a Wall" and "Our Natural Love"). It was recorded, mixed and mastered at Generator Music Studios.
A few concerts after the release of the EP, Sir Giant managed to achieve the playlist of one of the most important national radios in Portugal, Antena 3. Thanks to the internet and the download of the songs available on the official site, Sir Giant's contagious sound and energy began to spread through local radios and general listeners, gathering a steady base of fans, even at an international level.

THE MUSICIAN, COMPOSER, WRITER AND EVERYTHING ELSE...
Tiago started playing in 1991, when he was twelve years old and his older brother, Paulo, offered him his first Drum Kit.
His first band was "Crise Social" (Punk), formed in 1993; it allowed him to have some experience on stage by playing at schools and communities. He then played for many years with different bands such as "Un-Sub-Mission" (hardcore) "No Class Youth" / "99 Stickers" (Melodical Hardcore) and "High Jack!" (reggae/Ska).
In all these bands he played the drums but had the chance to learn how to sing and play the Guitar and Bass.In the beginning of the year 2001 he started a new project called "Maddog" (Reggae/Ska/Punk Rock) with only two members, where he played his own music and lyrics. Fred Stone (the drummer of "Blasted Mechanism", a Portuguese band), interested in his songs and the whole concept of the band, offered to work with Tiago as a producer but suggested that he should become the vocalist. He believed that Tiago had a good stage attitude, a good voice and a wide experience as a musician. Since he was the composer and writer of all the songs and lyrics, it seemed only natural to Fred Stone that he became the vocalist. At first Tiago refused the idea but ended up taking the challenge. "Maddog" had a short existence though and soon became "Dub Hole Connection".
During that year, Tiago acquired a computer and started to write new songs recording a demo at home. In this new project - "Dub Hole Connection" - Tiago was the lead vocalist and invited two friends to play guitar and bass in the live acts. The drums, keyboards and effects come from a MiniDisk. After a few months "Dub Hole Connection" came to an end. The money to invest in the band was little and the musicians had other bands they considered more important.
However, Tiago carried on with his music. In 2002 he started to build his own rehearsal and recording studio, he met new people and musicians and, above all, he met the people who would later help him start SIR GIANT. At that time Tiago decided to play the drums again and invited a friend to sing. Only she was more interested in theatre than in music. Since he couldn't find a good vocalist to replace her he said to himself: Tiago, you must be the vocalist; you are the writer, composer, manager and designer... and so it was: SIR GIANT was born!
In February 2006, Tiago went to London to record one song, at Abbey Road Studios (The Beatles). This was the 1st prize of the European Levis Contest Stay True, won by Tiago and Sir Giant music. At the same time, MTV Portugal had 2 interviews with Tiago: one when Sir Giant started to get known and another one in London, while Tiago was recording.
