Hello and thank you for visiting Public Safety Pictures. A personal web site dedicated to capturing the essence of the American Emergency Service Worker. I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey where over the years I served as a volunteer EMT, Firefighter, Red Cross volunteer, and now police officer. I am currently a Detective Sergeant for my agency and the official agency photographer for numerous departments throughout the area.
I have been taking photos for over 15 years after stealing my first camera from my mother's office. From that manual focus, manual setting camera I now own a full range of Canon Professional series gear which brings you the quality photos you see today.
My photos include everything from drills, emergency scenes, sports, family events, professional assignments all the way through the World Trade Center where I survived by the skin of my ass. My work has been published in the Associated Press, The New York Times, The Bergen Record, New Jersey Star Ledger, The Daily News, Firehouse Magazine, Fire Rescue Magazine, Fire News, and countless other media outlets. Because of the negativity towards the emergency services I have taken a step back from providing photos to the media and only provide photos to trade publications. I found that no matter how positive the photos may be the media always finds a way to flip it around in the story.
In addition to the publicized photos my work is also extensively used for department training, critiques, and more importantly investigations. Because of my background most agencies have found that I prove to be a credibile witness for their investigative purposes.
