Heroes:

My Hero is my Uncle, John Duddy, who won the James Gordon Bennett Medal in 1997. The James Gordon Bennet Medal is the highest medal awarded annually by the New York City Fire Department. The fire occurred on November 25th, 1996 in a homeless shelter at 30 Hamilton Place near West 139th Street. He rescued 2 civilians from an almost certain demise as fire was rapidly overtaking the entire top floor of the 6 story structure.
