Music:

HipHop, R&B, Reggae, Reggaeton, Dancehall, Rap, New music of young African people, Urban music.

Heroes:

These are my heroes..
Buddha Blaze :..
Be the professor of your street..
What we need to do now is create a foundation. There is no foundation, but there is lots of music... The artists just dont have a support system. There are no record labels... There is no radio support...
Hip hop artists have better chances of educating the youth than any other culture right now... The president? He dont look that funky...
if you switch on the radio, you dont hear conscious talk... Because thats not how they designed the game... I say that if radio starts talking consciousness they will listen to it...
Kenyanna: ..
We always try to preach positivity... We should view one another as brothers..
Noise is my voice..
Goreala:..
Whoever is trying to bring up the local hip hop is the same guy that is killing it right now... It is a dog eat dog situation musically....
It might be noise to you but thats me trying to say something
I am only a rich man in my head... Even when the bible says: dont walk around showing people youre poor.....
My main reason for rapping is to get something known out there....
Angel:...
The pain is not over....
The woman is like the face of poverty...
Africa needs to stand out....
A man will never hold the mic and start spitting:...
I had strange hands going up my thighs ...
Somebody was holding a gun to my head,...
I couldnt even cry...
All I could do is look up to the sky ...
And pray to god, I wish I could just die.....
What we hip hop artist are trying to do is dig deep into the ghetto and getting the raw talent out...
People dont understand.... They think just because she looks nice, shes not poor.... But I cant walk around naked telling everybody I didnt have a meal last night.....
Angel is a person who helps people to get them to the other side, to the better side....
Africa needs to express itself.... The youth of Africa simply need to express themselves.... And hip hop will be our weapon....
Binyavanga Wainaina:...
There is simply no human being who does not respond to music, in one way or another....
The system is in many ways against the people from the ghetto...... But they are not the kind of people to sit down with and discuss your own position.... You have to fight for your space.....
I say this with pain because I want to believe that it is writing that is going to change the world.... But it is not true.... There is simply no human being who does not respond to music.... So it is only when music started talking about injustice that people were willing to exert themselves..... ..
Orie Rogo Manduli:.
A ghetto girl is exposed to rape from the minute she is born
I am black, And I am proud... I act with the strength of the African woman.....
The empowerment has to come from within..... We have to empower them on their own terms and their own ground.... So when they speak to you in rap, that is their way of telling you what is going on....
The ghetto children need a lot of counseling, because many of their scars never go away. ..They are destroyed even before they begin....
Street talk: ...
Love your neighbors but rob them first!...
Living in the ghetto feels like fitting an ocean into a cup....
The hell with the more money the more problems. ..
I could live with those problems....
PAIN--Angel
I woke up and it was poring down rain-
No, no, I woke up and it was poring down pain-
Pain of a nation going through confusion-
Politicians been feeding us poison-
Visions of money, whos gonna be the next president-
Hip hop should be the next State House resident-
Tell you how you console a dead cops wife-
Tell you your people get killed all the time, and thats life-
Every day, I kneel down and pray-
Dont wanna be the next target of a bullet gonna stray.-
The pain is not over. Its all over-
Knocking door to door, like Jay Hover -
Witness, make sure the next time they dont know your weakness-
The pain of a girl losing her innocence-
Not to the man she loves, she was just caught in the violence-
The pain is all over-
The pain of the world waiting for Bin Laden to strike again-
The pain is not over-
It keeps coming inside me again and again-
The pain of a rapper trying to be the next Big Daddy Kane-
Dont listen to the noise around me-
Listen to the voice surround me-
Teachers and preachers, poets and rappers-
We need to spit in one voice-
The time is now-
The pain is not over-
