About Me

Hi...
I'm Black Projects. I've been making my own music since early 2006, and have been DJing since about 1992.
The four tunes here are:

'A Fractured Sense of Expectation'
'Status Anxiety'
They are all from the album 'Hashi Mashi'.

It costs 4 pounds, plus postage.

If you're from the UK, you may have heard of Black Projects before. It was also the name of a club night I ran with a couple of mates at the Honeycomb and La Belle Angele in Edinburgh. The aim of the night was basically to play an across the board selection of grooves, really anything that you could dance to and which had soul, if you know what I mean. Something for your head, heart and ass. It did pretty well and we built a good reputation. Amongst the plaudits, the Guardian called us 'genre defying class' and 7 Magazine said we were 'a night to remember'. We hosted some class guests. We did some interviews and stuff. We did a bit of radio. People danced and had a good time. It was a load of fun. Like all good nights, it didn't last forever, and finished up around 2001. Following that, the Honeycomb changed its name, and La Belle Angele burnt down, so I guess they missed us...
I hope you enjoy the sounds that you find here. I hope they make your limbs twist, your mind feel slightly warped, and your ears very happy...
peace and love
