With the success of the 100EX introduced in Geneva in 2004 and orders being taken briskly for the subsequent Corniche, Rolls Royce has now introduced the accompanying coupe, the 101 EX. Sharing the same lightweight aluminum frame, the 101 EX is designed to be the best coupe built on the planet. It features 21 inch wheels and the same front end of the 100 EX. This car also has the same stately stance of the Phantom, but on a shorter frame by 24cm. The Phantom has no peers in the ultra luxury sedan market with sales nearing 800 worldwide, more than doubling its nearest competitor. The 101 EX shares the same 6.75 L V12 of the Phantom and develops 453hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. With “suicide” doors and a sumptuous cabin, the 101 EX will be a success when it is made and will set a new standard in ultra-luxury coupes.
BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GTC
Following the successful 2003 launch of the Continental GT and the subsequent Flying Spur, Bentley is introducing a breathtaking convertible- the Continental GTC. Based on the same platform but built with even more rigid materials, the GTC possesses the same 12-cylinder engine that makes 552 hp and reaches a top speed of 195 mph. This convertible is lightning quick reaching from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. The GTC also features standard all-wheel drive and six-speed automatic handling. Ofcourse, this convertible comes standard with hand crafted leather, wood veneers and polished metals and other premium materials you would expect from the best coach builders in the world. Based on the over 10,000 Continental series sold thus far, sales of the convertible are expected to be brisk with a starting price estimated at $190,000. LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO LP640
Introducing: the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640; a flagship of super sports cars. Since its 2001 debut, Lamborghini has sold roughly 2000 Murcielago’s. With such success, improvements were a challenge. Engineers worked on improving the engine, suspension, gearbox, interiors, exhaust, brakes, and electronics. The engineers achieved their goals, making the new LP 640 more aggressive, with the exhaust now integrated into the bumper and a new tail light treatment. The engine is more powerful also with an increase of displacement from 6.2 to 6.5 liters and production boosted from 580 hp to 640 hp. The 12-cylinder engine also produces 487 lb-ft of torque matted to a six-speed gearbox. Great audio visual features include a new instrument panel and Kenwood radio with a 6.5 monitor, along with a DVD and MP3 players. A navigation system is also available. With an all-wheel drive system and 18in wheels, expect to pay more than the $288,000 of the past model.
