Official Bio:
Nat Morse was first introduced to the world of DJing in 1995 after discovering that many of the hip hop CD's he enjoyed contained samples taken from older jazz, funk, soul, and disco records. He began hunting down original vinyl and new hip hop records, and by 1997 had saved up enough money to buy a used set of Technic 1200's. Born and raised in the vibrant city of San Francisco, he was exposed to many different types of music starting at a young age, and by the time he took up DJing as a hobby, the city was about to enter the national spotlight for both its scratch DJ innovators, as well as party rockers. To this day, the influence of this variety is evident in Morse Code's style, which maintains a healthy balance of technical ability with keeping the crowd moving at all times.
By 2002, Morse Code had graduated from practicing all day in his bedroom to hitting the local club circuit. Playing anywhere he could catch peoples' ear, he gradually expanded and within a few years was playing at all the top clubs in the Bay Area. Since 2005, he has only added to his list of SF residencies including Fluid, Slide, Harlot, and The Ambassador. In 2007 he was voted best San Francisco DJ in 7X7 Magazine.
In the last few years Morse Code has hit the national club circuit, appearing at Stereo, Room Service, and Butter in New York City, LAX, Cinespace, and Crimson in Hollywood, Pussycat Lounge in Phoenix, Enclave in Chicago, the SXSW festival in Austin, Tabella in Seattle, Club Envy in San Diego, and Beauty Bar Las Vegas to name a few. He has appeared alongside the highest caliber of DJ's, including DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Z-Trip, DJ AM, DJ Premier, Questlove, DJ Spider, Steve Aoki, The Rub DJ's, A-Trak, Mark Ronson, Grandmaster Flash, Ali Shaheed Muhammad from A Tribe Called Quest, as well as opening for many live acts including Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Ghostface, and Common. Morse Code is also the resident DJ for Icer Air, the hugely popular ski and snowboard festival in SF and is frequently featured as the hometown DJ for Warriors Games at Oracle Arena. GQ, Microsoft and Google are just a few of his corporate clients. He also works closely with United Trade Show to manage the entertainment at their bi-annual trade shows in Las Vegas and New York.
Now living in Los Angeles and more dedicated to his craft than ever, Morse Code is set to be recognized as one of the most innovative, versatile, and advanced in his field. Dropping his signature sets from coast to coast, it is clear that his skills will continue to take him far, and he is only getting started...
