The Up 2 Par sound is a blend of old school R&B and new age Hip-hop. Up 2 Par can energize you with a funky hip hop track and at the same time hit you with a soulful love ballad that will send goosebumps down your spine with its thrilling emotion and melodies sang with soulful vocals and falsetto improvisations. Up 2 Par wants people to just enjoy the music because music reaches and touches people of all sorts. Up 2 Par is a three member vocal group that relies heavily on its R&B roots in a mostly dominated rap market today. The group consists of brothers, Daniel Woody Wood Ingram and Minquel Ingram as well as Irving Baby Boy Johnson. Their riffs and soulful melodies recapture the musical moments of Classic Motown while simultaneously drawing from up to the minute urban soul. They stand out as one of the most innovative and upcoming groups of Today. Up 2 Par has many musical influences. Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson & The Jackson 5, Babyface, Boyz II Men, Debarge, Shalamar, and New Edition are artists that had a major influence on the group as a whole. Their musical inspirations can be heard throughout their latest release HERE WE GO. This project is the follow up to their debut CD FOR THE LOVE. The majority of the new project was written and co-produced By Up 2 Par with major musical contributions from writer/producer/group vocalist Irving Baby Boy Johnson who cites Jam & Lewis, Timbaland, and The Neptunes as major influences on the production tip. Johnsons contributions include the Hip-hop title track that sends a message to listeners as to what they have in store musically. Then there is the trio of quiet storm ballads that showcase each member of the group as a lead vocalist. Wipe Your Tears Away features Woody Wood on vocals, I Cant Go On spotlights Minquel, and Baby Boy comes to the forefront on a personalized track entitled A Song For Christina. These three tracks will definitely put you in the love zone. HERE WE GO gets a big boost from guest producer/artist Rufus Blaq. Rufus Blaq has worked with the likes of Destinys Child, Faith Evans, Marques Houston, Omarion, & Angie Stone. He contributes two strong Tracks in No Good and On The Grind. Rounding out the production table is long time musical collaborator James Mr. Casual Walker who brings to the project the uptempo track Figure It Out." We are very proud of our project and very excited about its potential says Woody Wood. The uptempo tracks are a little more funky and soulful this time around but the ballads are equally smooth adds Minquel. Up 2 Par has the goal of bringing R&B back to the days of yesteryear when much of mainstream music was real and not for the moment. They want all their listeners to enjoy their vibe because music is the soundtrack to life. They get their most enjoyment from being able to share their gift by performing and entertaining. They also would like to work with other artists by writing and producing behind the scenes as well. The group has been Together for years writing and developing their skills in the studio and that is yet another thing that makes them unique.
