First bracing the decks in 2001 the rise of Melbourne DJ / Producer James Rudd has been as spirited as it has been swift. Never one to do things in halves James has achieved more in his short time on the scene than most will achieve in their entire career. Close friends with Melbourne Techno Collective co-founder and DJ Sam McEwin, it was Sam who gave James his start as a DJ, handing James his first record and showing him the basic skills needed to master the art. And master it he did. With little more than a quick lesson it took James a no more than three months before his skills were comparable to even the most established of Melbourne jocks, amazing all around him in the process.
Spending incredible amounts of time on the decks and more incredible sums of money on records, it was not long before James’ talents had been noticed more widely. Landing his first residency at Melbourne nightspot the Sugar Suite James’ skills continued to improve as he relished the opportunity to play alongside some of Melbourne’s more established DJ’s. In 2003 James’ relationship with the Melbourne Techno Collective continued to grow as he took on a short rotating residency with the crew before departing to pursue other opportunities. Turning his hand to production in mid 2005 James found his talents as a DJ transferred easily into the studio and as quickly as he grasped the tables James was producing quality techno. In late 2005 while on tour of Australia, Ignition Technician front man Richard ‘Wilko’ Wilkinson came across James’ productions whilst staying in Melbourne. So impressed was he that he quickly took James under his wing, sharing the finer points of production and passing on valuable insight into the game. In 2006 James departed Australia for the U.K where during his short visit he and Wilko collaborated on the Home from Home EP; James’ first release.
Returning home James marked another milestone with his first live performance. Leaving club goers begging for more the performance singled in no uncertain terms that James Rudd would be a name to remember. Moving toward 2007 James’ career looks set to explode with more releases due and talk of his own label with Adeliade DJ / Producer Devious. In a career which has already seen James rock crowds alongside names such as Ben Sims, Chris Leibing, Ignition Technician, Mike Humphries and DJ Misjah, to say that the future looks bright for James Rudd is an understatement of the highest order.a href="http://www.pimp-my-profile.com/"
