AlBenAza are a rock/roots/acoustic trio hailing from sunny Plymouth in the SouthWest. As a band they play a mixture of rock, reggae and acoustic ditties, all layered with tight vocal harmonies. All three are guitar-playing singer-songwriters, so there's no one lead singer - Al, Ben and Aza take turns as front man while the others provide the rhythm section, unless they're playing an acoustic show where all three will play acoustic guitars!
They have played with and supported the likes of mercury nominee Seth Lakeman, The Beautiful Girls, Breaks co-op(Zane Lowes band), Kubb, The Days, The Martin Harley Band, Carus and The True Believers, Australian singer/songwriter Mick Hart, Jackson Analogue, Two Spot Gobi as well as countless others.
They recently released their new ep entitled “The I-Scream ep” to a sold out crowd @ The Hub in Plymouth.
The band is constantly playing live all over The Southwest and is now moving further afield to bring their SouthWest groove to the rest of the UK.
This hard work gigging has been bolstered by radio play on BBC Cornwall, BBC Devon and BBC Bristol as well as Internet radio stations such as boogieburg fm in America.
They have played to a sold out crowd in The Borderline in London twice. As support for both Mick Hart and Carus and The True Believers.
They also regularly headline venues across the SouthWest (Such as The Hub in Plymouth). Live, AlBenAza have a reputation as being one of the most energetic bands on the circuit. Instrument swapping, beatboxing, random jams, and witty banter create a presence on stage that when coupled with great songs makes them a treat to watch.
Recently the band released a version of Jurassic 5's "Concrete Schoolyard" on 7" Vinyl. This sold out Fat City Records in Manchester twice and has been played around the world courtesy of the infamous DJ/Promoter/Producer/Funnyman Aldo Vanucci and the new Plymouth label RIDE RECORDS. (Watch Below)
