Weapons Of Sound, the original purveyors of junk percussion started banging their junk in January 1993. Since then Weapons Of Sound have been booked to play a variety of educational, enviromental awareness, festival and corporate performances and workshops locally, nationally and internationally..........weddings and Barmitzvahs included. Performance highlights over the years include the opening of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester 2002, Heineken Cup Final 2007, Limburg Festival, The Sproai in Ireland, Champons League Final, Queens Jubilee Party at Buckingham Palace, Nozstock, Waveform, Greenbelt Festival and numerous cabaret and late night performances at both Glastonbury and Reading Festivals. WOS have played live performances in clubs in Plymouth, Portsmouth, London and Exeter's 'Timepiece' to name a few. Weapons Of Sound have baffled customs at many airports with their unusual array of recycled instruments. Airports and planes in places like Dubai, China, Seychelles, Spain, Portugal, Israel, France, Egypt, Germany....and Exeter have transported the band and their gas pipes, sinks and shopping trollies. WOS have launched products such as the XBox in Cannes and Miller Lager in Shanghai and have bashed out their beats and reminded people of the environmental message for Surfers Against Sewage, the Eden Project and their local Recycle Devon campaign. WOS have performed in Israel at cultural exchanges and facilitated environmental awareness at the World Youth Festival in Portugal.WOS have recorded albums and individual songs at Maidavale Studios, Sawmills Studio's, Propagation House and Deep Blue Sound Studios. Video footage and specific projects have been filmed at The Hospital in Covent Garden (London). Albums include Tank Top EP, Keep Britain Funky, Play Things and Bang On. WOS are currently working on new tracks for the next album (all WOS material has been registered with PRS).WOS have appeared on Radio 1 and local radio stations and have TV appearances that include This Morning, Blue Peter, BBC Live and Kicking and their music appeared on BBC Dramas. Educational environmental awareness programmes for children include BBC Music File, Cats Eyes, The Best of Friends, Boiled Egg and Soldiers and The Slammer and have been part of BBC Music Live events.Weapons Of Sound recently played at the Business In The Community Awards 2007 at The Royal Albert Hall for HRH Prince of Wales and Al Gore and wowwed Neil Armstrong with their own brand of junk percussion.
