Double J

I've found a great friend in my pen. We share an interest in paper.

About Me

Thanks for checking me out! I'm in my last semester of graduate school, and my focus is in Technical Communication. I am a member of the Society for Technical Communication , and am acting president of the Minnesota State Mankato student chapter . One of my most recent projects was to create a complete redesign of our newsletter, Techniques . I'm quite passionate about the organization, and Technical Communication is serving to be a great future!
My career aspirations vary, but I have high hopes. I love desktop publishing, web coding, and everything in between. With most projects, I will be the first to suggest I be the layout designer. Perhaps magazine publication would be most suitable for me considering my passion for design and writing. Who knows. I do know that ever since I did an internship with Walt Disney World in 2002, I've wanted to go back. Regardless of where I end up, though, I will always have Disney in my heart!
I've been a Christian pretty much all of my life, but most of the time I seem to fall short of my own expectations. Still, I'm glad I have my faith, and I'm open to talk about it. Thanks for your love.
If you wanna chat, I love to chat. I'm not online all the time, but friends are always welcome. Whether you're Christian, Jew, Muslim, atheist, or anything else, if you are friendly, I probably will enjoy chatting. Just, please, if you are not a band or someone that I've met before and am familiar with, please at least send me a message along with your friend request. I've been getting some requests from "women" that basically have pages to point people to pornography, and I'd rather not get those anymore. Thank you. God bless!
I don't normally advertise stuff on my Myspace profile, but for the time being, I think everyone should check out these talented brothers below. Check 'em out:

My Interests

- God. It's fun to talk with Him. We have a good relationship, but He gives more than I do.

- Biblical Ammunition (Lecrae deserves props for preaching this idea). We must all be locked and loaded with the Word. Romans 1:16

- Music (Christian rock, hard rock, and hip hop seem to be my main musical interests). More in the next section.

- Women. It's true, I love women. I don't look at a woman lustfully, but rather I look at what I see in her that is so beautiful. Don't get me wrong, physical beauty is a gift God has crafted in women. We should respect that!

- Writing. It's my biggest passion. I love art in general, but my canvas is usually painted with words.

- Sports. Yep, I'm a guy. I love hockey more than anything else right now. While basketball has taken second place, it is still a close second. Hockey just seems so much more exciting. Baseball and football are up there too, and after that I enjoy just about everything (except racing!).

- Hanging with friends. I mean who doesn't?

- Movies. I'm a huge movie buff. I have too many DVDs, but that's okay. As a screenwriter I can say that I watch them to learn.

- To put the following interest into words is so difficult. In a world where so many are out to prove that they are right and others are wrong, I take interest in the idea of peaceful discussion. In a world that is so focused on image and class, race and division, I wish to see unity. In a world where every human being is unique, I pray for all people to see the common element. That common element is life. Life is precious and life is given to all around us. We need to stop focusing on differences and start focusing on how we can hold the hands of those that think and look different than us. This is how freedom and happiness are born.

I'd like to meet:

I'm lovin meeting so many of y'all. I appreciate the good word. Be blessed, stay blessed, and leave some blessed thoughts. Love y'all!

Amazing, heartbreaking video by Mr. J of the Procussions

First time I saw this video and heard this song, I knew I found something special. I would say that these guys are comparable to the Beastie Boys, but are way better.

Lightheaded's "Soul Power" video

Movies:

Oh man, the list is insane:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (my favorite!), The Fifth Element, Donnie Darko, Hero, Fearless, Terminator, The Machinist, The Matrix Trilogy (I love ALL three!), Star Wars (earlier years are better), The Infernal Affairs Trilogy (China), The X-Men films, Disney, Finding Nemo, In Her Shoes, Batman Begins, Notting Hill, Rat Race, Ace Ventura, The Return, Amelie, The Godfather, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more that I will name off later.

Television:

FAMILY GUY! Lucky there's a Family Guy! Survivor, The Apprentice, American Dad, and the Amazing Race. I don't watch too much television. Mostly movies.

Books:

Just finished reading The Year of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs. His insights and humor are refreshing and respectable. Currently I am reading The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis, and it is a compelling fantasy. Other current reading material involves numerous textbooks!

Other readings I like include Narnia, LOTR, Harry Potter, some Stephen King and some Dean Koontz, Chaucer, Shakespeare, The Faerie Queene, Gulliver's Travels, and more to list later.

Heroes:

My father.

My brother Ben.

God.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

My great buddy Steve.

I used to think Arnold Schwarzenegger was my hero. Still love the guy, though.

Stewie Griffin.
