Please take a moment to read about my friend and what she has been up to.
Nita Word, Author of "That Big Ole' Pretty Bassett Hound: Country Pumpkin Pie, with Darian and Levi", a story about a big ole' pretty basset hound's love for two small children.
The three of them finds that they are lost in the woods: Then Country (basset hound) wanders away. Leaving the two children all alone. The children didn't know what to do... Country realized what he had done.
Country, comes up with a plan, to find the children and take them home. Where now, they are safe and sound!!

Born in Cuyahoga County Ohio in 1958. Raised in the Ozarks. Moved to Atlanta, Georgia with her family in the late 1970's
Nita raised two boys, now handsome young men, and is the proud grandmother of three beautiful children. The two oldest grandchildren are characters in the book.
She is in the process of writing Vol: 2. That Big Ole' Pretty Basset Hound Country Pumpkin Pie. To include the third grandchild in a wonderful journey, with Country.
The inspiration of writing this story came to her as she watched her grandchildren and her dog play outside, under the tall southern pines.
Nita resides in rural northwest Georgia with her dog, Country,

The last day of August with Poppop.
I was able th participate in a 150 mile bike run. It was the MS Bike to the Bay (September 29-30, 2007) in Delaware. I have a few friends who suffer from multiple sclerosis. I have watched as they have become more and more restricted in their ability to get about and even talk. I have always felt like my hands were tied and have actually felt silly not being able to help. Since posting the original announcement of my involvement, I have been made aware of certain Myspace friends who are affected by this terrible disease. Now I have been given a way help. Something right up my alley, where I could show my love and care by putting my bike tires in motion for two days and peddling toward raising some money to help those affected MS. It was a wonderful event.
A special thank you to all who donated. You ROCK!

I could truly use your help in helping the needy children across our great Country. Simply click on the icon below in my favorite friends box and go from there. There are many benefits in joining in with me. One of the greatest is the joy of seeing the children smile.
My first review and better yet, a message for us all. Please visit my friends blog. Click here to find "The song of my life". Ronda (Lisa) Thank you Lisa. Tell the world, we've found the way.

There is some really cool history captured in this photo. It dates back to the late 1800's. The railroad station still stands today. However, it is in rough shape. An investor from nearby recently bought it and is interested in developing it into a restaurant or office complex. That would be awesome. To think that it can easily be torn down is a miserable option.

Take note of the structure in the background. The freight station is now Railroad Records Music Studio. Over 10 years ago it was slated to be used as a practice fire site by the Sewell Fire Company. They were going to set it ablaze and have at it with their ladders and hoses. I wanted it preserved and made it known. The reply was, "it's your's if you can move it". So, I did just that. I had it moved to my property a few blocks away. It now sits safely on my property, complimenting my home, built in 1885.

I am not so keen on seeing our historic landmarks being destroyed. I'm thinking you might feel the same way. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

The Sewell Railroad Station today. And so goes our grand history.
