Quickie Bio & the Basics for busy people: LR has been performing and writing all his adult life and a little before. He hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan just like Gerald Ford but dont let that bug ya. Hes played a zillion places & made a lot of friends. He makes his home in Florida now in the Tampa Bay area. Oddly enough, he really misses snow.As a songwriter, Larry writes about the big mysteries and the little joys. He writes about family, love, life, the afterlife and he has a cool song about stones you should ask him about.Currently, LR has completed his second CD and putting a lot of effort into his solo stuff between Hazard Factor shows. He's getting ready to make the rounds of the coffee shops, folks clubs and house concerts in the southeast and maybe up in Michigan and South Carolina, too.Check back here often for new sound clips and news

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: this is it...
Band Members: Um....me.
Influences: The great songwriters...Lately, I can't enough of Sufjan Stevens. One hell of a songwriter. Kate Rusby, Beck, Innocence Mission, Eliza Gilkinson, Steve Earl, any one who can write a meaningful lyric and sound like they mean it. Is Dave Hardin still around? Man, he could write a song! My friend, J Oscar Bittenger up in Grand Rapids, Sly & the Family Stone, The Staples Singers (Mavis...ah, Mavis), Emmy Lou Harris is probably the voice I'll hear on the way to heaven, Jake turned me on to the Buddha Bar stuff. Gil Scott Heron, cuz the revolution will NOT be televised, baby!....plus my old school...Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Yes, Joni Mitchell. Really dug the latest Faithless CD...loving world music more & more....Anyone who can write a song that means one damn thing. Good poets, good movers and groovers. I hope I'm one of them on a good day.
Sounds Like: Exactly like me. It's really quite uncanny.
Record Label: Mine, I guess....
Type of Label: Indie

I'm a ring tone!

It Begins to Rain, new CD soon.

God Bless Jerry.

Jerry Ford was a nice guy from my home town. I'm not big on republicans, but how can you not respect the man? His funeral in Grand Rapids was about 5 blocks from where I had my first job at the public...
