TERO PUHA STUDIO

Originally from Finland, I have now lived in London for 7 years. Funny how time flies, it feels like 3 years..I did my BA in Fine Arts and had a quite traditional fine art training ( painting, drawing, sculpture etc.) I then decided to concentrate on photography and got accepted to University of Art and Design Helsinki to do my MA degree. I started my career as a gallery artist exhibiting my work in the Finnish art scene. My works were acquired by all the biggest art museums in Finland ( Museum of Contemporary Art, Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki City Art Museum) as well as some museum collections in Denmark and Japan. Instead of continuing this route, I felt the need for an adventure! Finland is lovely and I will probably return one day to have a quiet life in the fabulous countryside, but for the time being it´s London for me. It´s such an inspirational ( and sometimes frustratingly loud and crowded) city. I am now venturing into commercial photography as well aiming to combine my art style with fashion and advertising photography. I haven´t abandoned gallery world either; my next exhibition is booked for spring 2008, where I will be premiering a brand-new short film, which I´m currently working on.
