The band started in June 2004 when Joel poulin and Francois Meloche, both coming out of another band, decided to carry the Rock'n'Roll Flame through their instruments... At that time, Pierre Luc Schetagne already knew the guys and decided to join the project a few weeks later. With each new melody, he brought a hardcore influence through is drumsticks... They quickly advanced with their compositions and it became obvious that they needed vocals. After try outs, they chose Genevieve. She brought a metal influence to the band and slowly it made its mark in the QC underground scene. In October 2004, through a clash of ideas, the group decided upon the name Social Revolver.
Why this name? Well... it's extremely simple and we’ll explain it to you. The lyrics are a whole instrument of denunciation. Indeed, through the texts we try to denounce the various social rights which day after day are ridiculed under our eyes. We want to contribute to increase the social conscience. We strongly believe that without an honest government for the perpetration of the social rights, the human contribute to their death. By violence or by negligence in all these forms, the social layers don't cease moving away and the values don't cease breaking down under the threat of individualism. Isn't time to denounce this human catastrophe? It's what we try to do by the way of Rock'n'Roll. Indeed, it's important to remember that this style of music was, at the beginning, a rebellion against the dominant groups of the time. Social Revolver wants to be a continuity of this philosophy, as well on the level of the ideas defended as in our compositions...By the poesy of our texts; we try to join these social bases. Some of our songs result also from personal stories which touched one or more members of the band.
