Movies:

It's kinda like this, except funnier and more awesome. When I find a trailer that even begins to do the film justice, I'll put it up.
These are in no particular order, though The Royal Tennenbaums and the original Star Wars trilogy are probably my absolute favorites, and things in CAPS are generally recent additions. I would order the Star Wars films as follows, from favorite to least-favorite: V (The Empire Strikes Back), IV (A New Hope), VI (Return of the Jedi), III (Revenge of the Sith), II (Attack of the Clones), I (The Phantom Menace). Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) is my favorite director, and JOSS WHEDON IS MY MASTER NOW, so, obviously, SERENITY (see TV and Heroes section - and pretty much every other part of my profile - for more on Joss . . . because he's boss). Other favorites: , Garden State, The Matrix (all - to varying degrees, but the first one is pretty much a perfect movie, to my mind), Brokeback Mountain, Before Sunset, The Lord of the Rings (all), Moulin Rouge, The Incredibles, The Philadelphia Story, Amelie, Josie and the Pussycats, THE ROOM , You Can Count on Me, ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, The Ice Storm, Fight Club, 80's movies, SLiTHER, Pirates of the Caribbian, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Harry Potter (all, though, in order of preference, for the films: Goblet of Fire, Chamber of Secrets, Sorcerer's Stone, Prisoner of Azkaban), About a Boy, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Bowling for Columbine, Adaptation, Donnie Darko, Zoolander, Sideways, Kolya, Farenheit 9/11, Playing By Heart, The Princess Bride, Hotel Rwanda, Old School, The Ring, Love Actually, Boondock Saints, East is East, Indiana Jones (Last Crusade and Raiders), Spaceballs, Mean Creek, Whale Rider, Lost in Translation, Flight of the Navigator, Toy Story I & II, Finding Nemo, Bend it Like Beckham, Office Space, Almost Famous, Billy Elliot, bad teen movies, The Iron Giant, Backdraft, Braveheart, The Princess Bride, Galaxy Quest, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Trekkies, Stand By Me, The Outsiders, X2, Say Anything, Shadowlands, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins The Professional, Radio Flyer, My Girl, Much Ado About Nothing, Raising Arizona, The Wizard, Chasing Amy, Good Will Hunting, Mallrats, The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Boogie Nights, Grosse Pointe Blank, To Kill a Mockinbird, The Day After Tomorrow, The Core!, Superman II, Lilo & Stich, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Fifth Element, Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, and so very many more. Pretty good semi-new stuff: PAN'S LABYRINTH (AMAZING), BORAT (I've seen it twice and I liked it even more the second time - very nice!), CASINO ROYALE (again, possibly even better the second time), Stranger Than Fiction, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (I FINALLY got to see it!), other stuff I apparently can't think of right now . . .
Television:

CURRENT FAVORITES: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, VERONICA MARS (this season has been disappointing so far, but I still have hope), Smallville (so. very. ridiculous.), Family Guy (Stewie is pretty much the greatest thing EVER), Lost, Scrubs, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Prison Break, Boston Legal (Denny Crane & Alan Shore: my favorite relationship on television . . . seriously, they're adorable), Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Bones, House, South Park (why this wasn't on here before, I have NO idea), Robot Chicken, THE OFFICE (I FINALLY started the US version!! I'll finish watching the UK version whenever I get back to LA), American Idol (I would be ashamed, if I wasn't so damn entertained), The OC (we'll see about this season), GREY'S ANATOMY (is totally rocking my world right now; I've got one more episode to go before I'm caught up!), Saturday Night Live, 24, The Simpsons, Beauty and the Geek, Chapelle's Show, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, How I Met Your Mother, etc.

OLD STUFF/NO LONGER ON-THE-AIR: Angel, Friends, TJ HOOKER ("It's okay ladies, you can get off the bus now. You can get off the bus.;" damn you, A&E, for cancelling our 4AM HOOKER, damn you!), The Office (UK version; I've seen the first season and will watch the rest soon!), Alias, Family Ties, Sex and the City (I've only seen the first two seasons and the series finale so far, but it's amazing), Punky Brewster, The Wonder Years (this shit NEEDS to come out on DVD!), STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION (and Deep Space Nine, for a few seasons, at least), etc.

RANDOM FUN STUFF: Celebrity Poker Showdown, I Love the 80's Strikes Back, I Love the 90's, design shows (more HGTV than Trading Spaces, though . . . ooh, and Pimp My Ride, which is essentially design show), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Animal Planet (Growing Up . . . , Adoption Tales, That's My Baby, etc.), Dirty Jobs (they SO need to come to Star Island!), Jeopardy!, etc.
''I'd rather make a show 100 people need to see, than a show that 1000 people want to see.'' - JOSS WHEDON (IS A GOD)

Books:
A Prayer for Owen Meany, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Dune, Go Dog Go, The Sailor Dog, Amos & Boris, Siddhartha, The Hotel New Hampshire, The World According to Garp, The Power of One, To Kill a Mockinbird, His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass), The Chronicles of Narnia, The Outsiders, The Great Gatsby, Franny & Zooey, The Butter Battle Book, In the Blink of an Eye, The Hobbit, Napalm & Silly Putty by George Carlin, America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction by Jon Stewart & the writers of The Daily Show, Ender's Game (and all Ender-related books) by Orson Scott Card, Eragon, Eldest.
My favorite author is John Irving (A Prayer for Owen Meany, The World According to Garp, The Hotel New Hampshire, The Ciderhouse Rules, etc.). My very favorite books are The Lord of the Rings trilogy and A Prayer for Owen Meany . . . and all of the Harry Potter books, honestly.
Heroes:
I don't know that they're heroes, per se, but I enjoy/like/admire/respect them, I suppose: JOSS WHEDON (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, & Firefly, writer/director of all-of-the-above and the film Serenity, and writer of Toy Story), WES ANDERSON (my favorite director) & OWEN WILSON (as an actor, sure, but also as Wes Anderson's writing partner and best friend), WAYNE GRETZKY, JON STEWART, JOHN LENNON/THE BEATLES, TINA FEY and all of the amazing current female SNL cast members (Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, & Rachel Dratch), PETER JACKSON ('cause that was just crazy, making those movies), JOHN IRVING (author of A Prayer for Owen Meany, The World According to Garp, The Ciderhouse Rules, etc.), J.R.R. TOLKIEN (author, The Lord of the Rings), J.K. ROWLING (author, Harry Potter), WALTER MURCH (as one of the greatest film editors of all time and author of "In the Blink of and Eye," a brilliant book about film editing - even if you're not really into film, it's fantastic), STEVEN SPIELBERG (not always the greatest or most original filmmaker ever, but I still love him), GEORGE LUCAS (for as much as I'd like to sit down with him for a few years and discuss the issues with Episodes I-III, he has still created a world in which I have spent a great deal of my life), RYAN WHITE, RICHARD LINKLATER (director of Dazed & Confused, School of Rock, Before Sunset, etc.), STEVE JONES [Sex Pistols guitarist and host of Jonesy's Jukebox, a radio show on Indie 103.1 (http://www.indie1031.fm) - the man entertains me daily!], WILL FERRELL (he makes me laugh . . . and really, what's better than that?), J.J. ABRAMS (creator of Alias and Lost), MICHAEL MOORE, BOB DYLAN, and the creators, writers, cast, & crew of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT (Mitchell Hurwitz, Ron Howard, etc.), FREAKS AND GEEKS (Paul Fieg, Judd Apatow, etc.), THE DAILY SHOW (JON STEWART is a god), and SMALLVILLE. Oh, and Michael Cera, the 17 year-old who plays George Michael Bluth on ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. He is amazing and brilliant.
