Well hello. My name is Stamper, Stompey, Stamps, Chief, Inzi, Pochohontas, Sicknote etc etc. I'm 27 and I live in the lovely county of Devon England. My interests include my dogs Jasper & Carrot, music especially breakbeat and house, DJ'ing on NSBRadio, running a most excellent breakbeat nite Gobbstopper keeping it Rural, training in the gym, kiting, cricket and oh, did I say girls? Thats about it...so read on for my DJ biography and stuff or say hi for a chat......
Hailing from the southwest - england's cider country, Stamper aka Ollie Stamp has been rolling at the controls for some time. Brought up on blues, jazz and reggae, he began mixing with funk, soul and hip-hop at the age of 19. From here, he progressed to the harder and faster sounds of drum n bass and became a stalwart of the westcountry rave scene under the pseudonym Rhetorik. However, as the music got darker, Stamper yearned for something with more soul, groove and flow. Here he discovered the captivating breakbeat, through artists such as DJ Icey, Bassbin Twins, Dee Patten and was intrigued by the Nu-Skool sounds being pushed by labels like Distin'ctive, Marine Parade and Botchit & Scarper. The rest, as they say, is history.......
Continuing with the somewhat blinkered party scene, Ollie honed his skills and style and in 2003 picked up a residency with Check Your Breakz(!), sister night of Housework. Here was able to offer the house crowd an alternative groove to the 4/4 next door. As time went on, Check Your Breakz(!) was not enough to satisfy and after a few gigs with 2Veg, Stamper was offered a residency with Infrasound, one of the westcountry's biggest breaks nites and it's here he stayed for a year as co-promoter and general cider miscreant.
From this vantage point, Stamper has graced the bill alongside breaks heavyweights such as Stanton Warriors, Rennie Pilgrem, Koma & Bones, Future Funk Squad, Elite Force, Transformer Man, High 8, JDS and Superstyle Deluxe to name a few.........
However, this was still not enough to satisfy and Stamper decided to move on to start up his own night, with the emphasis on local DJ's supporting established live acts, and thus Gobbstopper was born!
Working with partner in crime Jim'll Mix It, Gobbstopper launched on Saturday 20th January at Cafe Mamba, Taunton......to widespread acclaim!
Previous events have seen Janette Slack, Darft Phunk, Slyde, Transfomer Man, Hoffman & Model 101, Ben & Lex, Journeyman & Barrcode and more, grace the stage. So watch this space as Gobbstopper brings you the cream of the crop from the breakbeat and electrotech scene.....

As an extension of his sound and as a base for promoting westcountry DJ's and producers, Ollie approached the world renowned Nuskoolbreaks.co.uk internet radio station NSBRadio in 2005 and its here you can find him live, alongside special guests on The Ruralism Show, every Sunday Afternnon 1500-1700BST ..... NSBRadio
Expect lashings of funk, dashes of intelligent beats, a plethora of breaks, with a spiking of house and electro, mashed up with filthy scratching and topped off with some technical trickery and digital tomfoolery.
So crack open a bottle of scrumpy, sit back and let Stamper treat you to a slice of westcountry (apple) pie.........
