About Me

This one-day event, organized by Munich Masala in collaboration with the Kulturreferat of the LH Muenchen and the Muffatwerk GmbH, will provide a platform for artists with roots in South Asia and ties to Germany.The event will take place on October 1, 2006 in Munich at AMPERE, MUFFATWERK, and start at 2 pm, and conclude with a dance party until the early morning of October 2....We are featuring artists working in the genres of comedy, dance, film, literature, music, theater, and visual art.Im Rahmen dieser eintaegigen Kulturveranstaltung von Munich Masala in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kulturreferat der LH Muenchen und der Muffatwerke GmbH, soll Kunstschaffenden suedasiatischer Herkunft, vor allem mit Bezug zu Deutschland, erstmals ein Forum geboten werden, sich der Oeffentlichkeit zu praesentieren. Die erste Veranstaltung fand am 1.Oktober 2006 im AMPERE (MUFFAT WERK) in Muenchen statt und dauerte von 14:00 bis in die fruehen Morgenstunden am 2. Oktober.Gezeigt wurde bei dem Event Bildende Kunst, Comedy, Film, Musik, Literatur, Tanz, und Theater.Check out the photos of our event held on October 1, 2006:

I'd like to meet:

Artists with migrant backgrounds, South Asian artists, people with an interest in the cultural aspects of migration, artist/activists.

Music:

The musicians featured at ASA will be: Roman Chowdhury, and Jerome/Sulal Kool - check out their music on their MySpace pages and our website: www.asa.munichmasala.de

Movies:

We will show the films of Anna Faroqhi and Kaspar Saxena- Check out interviews with the artists in our Blog Space!

Television:

not on TV, but on our stage you will see the work of theater and comedy artist D'Lo. Dance will be presented by the Post Natyam Collective and Bollywood Dreamz Unlimited. In addition, we invite everyone attending and participating in the event to a discussion, as well as a dance party to finish the day.
