I would like to lie and say that I have a simplistic personality but that would be too obvious. I'll at least condense my interests! Music is my life, I sing too much, I am probably the crazy girl you see walking down the street singing along to her iPod at the top of her voice and trying to avoid the stares. I bounce. I have too much energy. Hence I walk... A lot... fast. Walking is good - it keeps me sane. Food is good, too. Please let me cook for you - it's probably the only thing I can achieve. And in the form of a tasty list (!): dancing, singing, guitar, piano, gigs, comedy, Quail, Pubs, Being Outside, meeting new like-mindedly odd people, Films, Literature (reading it and being read it. Audiobooks are wonderful), Cake, Tea. etc.
Not really into meeting famous people or 'celebrities' for the sake of doing so; generally I find that meeting idols, or anyone you've had on a pedestal is a let down. That said, I wouldn't mind hooking up with Ovid some time. Also, I'd quite like to have Bill Bailey round for afternoon tea and maybe some scones. And I dearly want to go out on the piss with Anthony Bourdain and make pies with the hairy bikers.Seriously though, am always happy to 'meet' anyone who's easy going, has a decent sense of humour, similar interests and a sound head on their shoulders. Particularly if they can spell. :)
What? A big list? I've got fairly eclectic taste... I like to escape within films - things that will utterly take my mind off the tedium of normal life. Again, there are too many favourites to list, but: LotR trilogy goes without saying; Amelie warms the cockles o' my heart (and I love Delicatessen too); I love Dancer in the Dark even though it's bleak; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the best 'love' film I've ever seen; Amadeus is genius; I have a soft spot for Lost In Translation, which is made with a very obvious and delicate 'female touch'; Spinal Tap. Godliness; Some Like it Hot never dates; 28 Days Later is good becaus ethe zombies reeeeally come for you; Bill and Ted. Come on. You know it's right.
Find myself going back more and more to older television. Not much on telly piques my interest at the mo'- Peep Show, Shameless... love them.... I am also faintly addicted to neighbours - tis the student way. The things I go back to time and time again are Monty Python, Blackadder (best is the second series, surely?), Alan Partridge, Brass Eye, the Day Today, Red Dwarf, Father Ted, Spaced, The Mighty Boooooosh, Black Books, The Mitchell and Webb Situation/That Mitchell and Webb Look ('Oh no! Now he's poorly from too much electric!'). I have a lot of time for the programmes I used to watch when I was a kid too - mmmm, Bagpuss, Button Moon, Thundercats! I am Cheetarah... hear me roar.
Gotta be some reason I chose my course, so I'll extol the virtues of Homer, Virgil, Ovid and Euripides... I read kids' books for comfort, so love A.A.Milne, and am sadly, a Harry Potter geek, Nabokov, Burgess, Palahniuk, Tolstoy, Jane Austen always get me excited. Please read Dave Gorman. I am a walking cliche. :D
I am Euripides' bitch.
