the Todd McCool bio....
Quick History - love, money, and death Born in the mid70's and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. Never heard of it? Well, it's the hometown of Indiana State University, where Larry Bird played college basketball and where todd studied Psychology. Terre Haute was a small town, obviously, but it provided glimpses of the city life and amazingly never possessed todd's vocal chords with the southern accent inherent in the rest of its population. so, without the southern hospitality, you'd never know he's from middle america. Musically raised on radio rock and pop legends, todd always had an interest in music that combined authentic talent, honesty, and hooks. At age 11 the NBA was replaced by MTV in todd's heart and he picked up the guitar. and although playing along with favorite songs and writing riffs were todd's national pastimes, it wasn't until college that a fear of death, an enlightenment of human motivation, and longing for simpler days led todd into a spiritual quest that spawned a songwriter with a mission of lending a hand in creating a new social conscience.
"the songs are escape mechanisms and for me, provide a focus of meditation. What you focus on mentally can shape you spiritually and physically, so if i'm going to play these songs religiously, i'm going to make sure they focus on things that are important now and in the future. On the surface they are stories, but inside of them are personal codes and laws about love, purpose, and self-talk that i think a lot of people relate to."
After receiving a Bachelor's degree, playing in cover bands, and writing music in college, todd and 2 other musicians traveled 3,600 miles in an S.U.V. to LosAngeles. the band recorded a CD, played some shows, and separated. The band's split was reflective of everything else in todd's life at the time (including the s.u.v.). Broke, single, and bandless, todd began writing a book as his sole personal center of motivation. he also began hooking up with new musicians around town and at one time was a member of 6 bands; One of the bands provided a producer for the album, PlanA. the title refers to todd's dreams of creating a musical entity from scratch; and its transformation from paper to flesh. this entity is known as...who 'theMcCools' are and how they met... ;
Mark Latham
One night as Todd was discussing his plans to auditorily hiJack the world, he was overheard by a young lady who gave him the email address of one who she described as "like totally reminds me of you!" Ever since then, Todd has played lead guitar in Mark's band ( Latham ) and Mark's done the same for theMcCools.
