About Me
DJ J. Saki
Born and raised in Boston, J. Saki (born Sackie Freeman), began his venture into music at a young age. His mother & fathers taste of diverse music exposed him to all types, such as African Caribbean, Classic Soul, Jazz, and Blues. "He would always turn up the volume or move the needle back to one of his favorite songs scratching up records": says Ms Freeman. In High School, young Saki noticed that rap music was becoming a favorite for a majority of the youth. After graduation, Saki then attended Massachusetts College of Communications to give his goals a better chance. He had a personal fulfillment from seeing how happy people would get when he was on stage mixing records. His powerful on stage presence was unique from most other DJs. His strong voice had the power to get people off their chairs and want to get on the dance floor. For a few years, Saki rocked block parties in a number of Bostons inner city neighborhoods. He then branched out and added nightclubs and college parties to the mix. The name J. Saki has become an instantly recognizable name in Bostons inner city. Since his first classic Spit from Tha Streets mixed CD (hosted by 50 Cent), Saki has gone on to put countless mixtapes under his belt. His most known is his trademarked "Best of the Bean" mixed cd series which showcases some of Bostons hottest up and coming talents. J. Saki knew that eventually others would notice some of the real talent Boston has to offer. In fact, his latest Best of Tha Bean mix cd will be endorsed by The Source Magazine. The Source is known for being the Hip Hop Bible. It is a world renowned magazine that will now help Saki expose Bostons underground talent to a larger audience. Saki is no stranger to large audiences. As resident DJ for Wu-Tang Clan member Cappadonna, Saki has performed on stage with known artists like KRS-ONE, Juvenile of Cash Money, Eight Ball MJG, Ghostface, and the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan. What separates J. Saki from your typical DJ? Some say he's that kid with the loud mouth, but others would say he's the man that represents Realness. When asked: What's in the future for J. Saki? He replies: "I'm destined to do music till I die. The love, the passion, the response I get from an audience completes the combination of when music meets humanity. My versatility on tour has given me the opportunity to travel around the world, showing what it takes to become a professional, and a powerful force in the DJ realm. J. Saki has covered many events, from National Convention Tours with Dick Clark & Debbie Allen to numerous clubs throughout the world. He was also the first DJ from Boston to appear on Black Entertainment Television's (BET) Rap City hosted by no other than Big Tigger. He was also a guest DJ for the Source Magazines Street Beat Radio Show, with host Benzino. His on air experience also includes several guest DJ spots on radio station Coolitwa in Switzerland. J. Sakis enthusiasm makes him one of a kind. He holds a strong relationship with everyone he comes in contact with. J. Saki will always be that hood official DJ. He will always be the DJ that isnt scared to break new artists unlike many bandwagon DJs who wait for an artist to already be in the mainstream. J. Sakis talent comes from a mix of his strong attitude, realness & love for music. J. Saki is Boston.
